I hope they find out what happened. If there are "guards" there at the prison, how could this have happened?

well let me tell you i used to work there, the inmates out numberthe officers there, you can't watch everything all the time.sad it happened, but there are some rough inmates there, so it happened, bout all you can say about it,just be thankful it wasn't an officer that was killed, at least it was an inmate, now less taxes we pay to keep him alive

yes this might be true for some inmates but you can't judge everyone as being bad just because they are incarcerated..yes it is very sad to hear off something like this...but think about it what if this was your love one how would you feel!!!!!!!!!!

do the crime pay the time,if any of you think you can do a better job, they have openings all the time, cause not many people are tough enough totake on a job like that , until you are behind the razor wire you can tel anyone you would do this you would do that, go find out for yourself, what if it was an officer just trying to do his job that was killed, left a family with lil ones behind, would that have made it better for ya, think about it, glad i don't have to work there anymore myself

As I read all of the statements posted, tears fill my eyes with awareness that some people understand the importance and some are trying to justify. No matter what crime he committed or how much time he served, this was someones
son, brother, FATHER,grandson ''my''uncle, nephew, cousin & etc. The hurt that fills my family heart is something that can not be explained. I, myself, do agree that each guard can not watch every inmate however if it comes to that point, more guards should be hired. I don't speak on this occassion just because it is my uncle, but I think about the logical things.

THIS REPLY IS TO homeboy_obion _co AND james.. TAKE YOUR WORDS AND TWIST THEM... THINK ABOUT THE FAMILY & HIS CHILDREN HE LEFT BEHIND.. SAFETY IS IMPORTANT NOT ONLY FOR THE GUARDS BUT FOR THE INMATES.. YOU CAN'T HOLD NOONE ACCOUNTABLE FOR THE CRIME THEY COMMITTED.. THAT IS NOT THE GUARDS JOB.. IT IS GODS'.. IN MY OPINION NO ONE SHOULD HAVE BEEN HARMED WHETHER IT WAS AN INMATE OR A GUARD.. YOU WOULD HAVE TO BE ONE SICK PERSON IF YOU THINK A INMATE SHOULD HAVE BEEN KILLED INSTEAD OF THE GUARD.. NEITHER ONE SHOULD BE

well i never said it like that. or meant it to be read like that, i'm sorry for your loss, but i can garantee you your "uncle" must have done something to someone for this type of thing to happen, i don't know what he was in for, but it happened, so it be, go to work there or visit go behind the last gate then look up see where u are, only protection u have is a kenwood radio, now do u think u feel safe back there by yourself with say 100-150 inmates to a pod?.. i don't think so, enuff said

Any one posting to this, needs to understand, killings in prison are usaly the result of an inmate pissing another inmate or gang off. This is not random violince. Not to be cold hearted but inmates are 30,000 dollors a year to me I dont want my taxes spent on, I'd rather spend it on schools or parks. And as far as hireing more, talk to your govener. He wont spend a dime on Corectional Officers, but will bring in as many inmates as he can to get the extra money. If any one that posts is a CO i respect you, if not shut up and get over it.

the ones that get on here and post well inmates cost us this and cost us that... so this is one less to feed and clothe.. are plum ignorant.. People make mistakes, and i think his life was just as precious as any of ours.. This should be investigated and find out why this happened and how to prevent it in the future. Just because he was in prison does not mean that he dont deserve justice his self.

if u have ever been in any prison at all, u would understand the guard to prisoner ratio. no way in hell they can watch them all. the guards know if the prisoners wanted to take any guard down any time they want they could. for your info, u dont have a gun on your hip in the fence area. they shore dont get paid enough for what they do!

correct "usn my brain" , if this person hadn't been convicted on cocane charges, he prolly would never had been put in prison, it will be investigated, but nothing is going to prevent it again in the future, any C O that works in any prison will tell u it isn't an easy job, what happened ,happened, it will again, like i said b4 , sorry for the family, my condolences

Well my boyfriend is in prison right now serving a seven year sentence for selling drugs. He was not a drug dealer he was addicted to drugs and sold every now and then to support his addiction. We tried everything to keep him clean but nothing would work. He needed rehab which is what the court offered him along with six months in jail. But the lake county jail abviously has favorites and shipped him to prison instead. It is sad because there are people in the Lake County Jail right now who have begged to be shipped out to prison but they won't ship them out but they shipped my boyfriend out?! It doesn't make any sense to me. But anyways it is so sad and scary for me to hear about this killing in the prison. I just pray every night that God will watch over and protect my boyfriend. My heart goes out to the family of this man that got killed. You all are definately in my prayers!

People like you piss me off. Just because he was in prison dont make it right for you to talk about people like that. yes he was in prison and are tax dollars are paying for him.. Heres an idea lets just let them all out of prison and then we can all then "really" feel safe.. but our tax dollars wont be going to waste. Being sarcastic.. What if it was one of your family members or friends son.. I know you know someone that has been in jail before for something.. Its not right that he was killed. he was only doing a 5 year sentence.

homeboy-obion-co evadentlt homeboy has no reguard for anyone,be it someones life, happiness,or well being. he's probably waiting on someone on his side to pass on so he can collect what ever he can scrape up. what about the persons family that done this terrible accident? the family of the inmate who died, maybe we should do a lot of praying for homeboy cause surley he's not that incencitive. what happens someday homeboy when you get hurt and people say he had it comming. or well thats one less trouble maker we dont have to pay taxes on or less bullshit they have to put up with.dont worry about it its no big loss, it was only a trouble maker we dont have to worry about bothering us so big boy why dont you think about both familes broken hearts say something nice
