Why would a church pay for so much hate? Calvary baptist shame on you. Do you think you are winning hearts for Christ? It's laughable you say "loving people as they are" Christ didn't teach hate.

What is so offensive about them saying marriage is between a man and woman. The billboard does not say "we hate" anything. Is it offensive when the catholic church has its cemetery of the innocent to promote their stance on abortion? No. No more so than bill maher calling people of faith who believe in God stupid idiotic morons. Differences of belief and opinion are what America is about. If that billboard offends you so much, you need to work out your issues. Pay the money and rent a billboard that says what u want it to say. Get over yourself.

So you don't think a billboard saying marriage God's way = one white man and one white women would be offensive? When I grew up, interracial marriage was seen as an abomination as well. We haven't come very far if we still condemn folks for who they love.

Nancy, I agree and if some people had their way, we would still have slavery, if it wasn't outlawed!. Attitudes have changed in society, regarding issues which were once thought taboo. If people focused more on what is really moral, as in "treating others as they would want to be treated" this world would be a better place. Evil is among us every day, murders, abuse, in every form, and some things are pounded upon to the point that the real things that matter in society are left in the dust! What has happened to intelligence? It seems at times on issues of birth control, etc.. society has taken a few steps backward.

Love all people, sinners included(or we wouldn't love anyone), but you do not have to love their sin. God loves all of us; but our sins breaks His heart!

The bible says speak the truth with love. The billboard speaks the truth. Calvary Baptist Church is a very loving church. They are just letting you know how God feels about marriage. Glad they took a stand. Someone needed to.

I am really not surprised that UC/OC would have a homophobic billboard. Just another example of how UC/OC refuses to accept change. This is the main reason why OC is dying ecomonically. What business or family would want to relocated to an area which is clearly not accepting of people's differences?

Hopefully, this billboard will make the national news and make OC/UC the laughing stock of the country. Our county can never be in the news for anything positive. We are just portraying ourselves as being a bunch of uneducated rednecks who still marry our own cousins.

It is not being a Christian when you are using the Bible to justify hate? Jesus was accepting of all people. He ministered with Love. He led people to salvation with Love. Jesus did not point finger, condemn or guilt people into salvation. Where is the love in a billboard which is promoting discrimination and judgement?

Although I don't agree with the billboard, I don't think they intended to use the bible to promote hatred. However, I do agree with the message. We are all sinners, but Christ loves us all. Salvation comes from the grace Christ showed on the cross. We each have to accept that grace and try each day to live for Him. Yes, we all fall short everyday, but if we have the Holy Spirit within us, we are convicted of those sins, ask for forgiveness and strive to do better. If someone can live in sin without conviction, then they need to check their relationship with the Lord and get it right. As you can tell by the signs of the times, the trumpet could sound at any time. My Prayer is that all will be ready. God Bless!

Slowly gay marriage has crept into our society. It is not natural, it is not Gods way and Christians have to defend marriage if gays are allowed to marry today it will be threesome marriages tomorrow and so on. People don't respect marriage and I'm glad somebody locally has spoken out!!!!

slavery still exists. It says slavery has been abolished ecept for that of the condemned felon... gay marriage is a sin. Period. To say one white man one white women is racist. And part of southern Baptist teachings. Christ was not white. He was dark skinned. Not white with blue eyes and long hair Like southern Baptist portray him. Nobody from that part of the world is pale with blue eyes. Brown skin, curly hair.

I totally agree with the message; but I think we need to bold, but at the same time loving, in our presentation. Christ was bold, but His love showed through His boldness. There are no billboards about Drug Addiction, Adultery, Pre-Martial Sex, Stealing, Lying, Rape, etc., but we should speak out boldly and lovingly about these sins also! There is no degree of sin; they all have consequences and have to be forgiven by our Savior!

I am a Christian first and Southern Baptist by conviction(nota member of church with billboard) and I do not, nor have I ever heard a Baptist preacher describe Jesus as White with blue eyes and long hair.

Gay's are too late to destroy marriage and family values because straight people have already done that!
Look around your church next Sunday and count all the folks that have been divorced. I dare say you will run out of fingers and toes. Then look at your own families and count up all the ones that lived together before marriage.
I'm not saying I'm for gay marriage but it is hypocritical to point out one sin among so many.
Billy Graham said being gay "was" a sin but no more a sin than other sins.

Marriage is between a MAN and a WOMAN. That is not HATE! That's just the way it is and the way it's always been. It's not that we refuse to accept "change," we refuse to accept barbaric beliefs.

Sure, anybody can love anyone they choose, but trying to force the issue of gay marriage is just ridiculous. Isn't it enough that there are Civil Unions and Partnerships? I think that's as far as the marriage issue needs to go. There isn't hate in any of that, just fact.

We're not supposed to hate anybody, but we also don't have to LOVE everybody. We're not supposed to condemn people, but we also don't have to associate with them.

I don't want to have to explain to my children that the 2 men kissing on the sidewalk are "married." I want my children to grow up knowing the difference between right and wrong, and to respect marriage.

Apparently gays have nothing better to do than push this issue. If they would just get on with their life and do what the REST of us do and keep their relationship issues private and personal.

I mean seriously, this is all just total B.S.

how does God feel about the 50% divorce rate? Seems like they need to clean up their own backyard first.

so now it is about color? If it was a black man and black woman would it be racist? If it was to Latinos would it be racist. There is nothing on that board that says white on white, or hate anything. It is a political statement based upon precepts in the bible. If you do not believe the bible that is your choice but believing it is theirs. The bible is quite clear in regards to heterosexual relationships. Interracial relationships are found in scripture. I do not condone racism, however i do not believe by depicting a white couple that makes you racist. Ok maybe they should have had a Black man, Latino woman, with an Asian baby. I am sure that would have made more sense to you.

In regards to the divorce rate, I admit it is hard to defend church people who have become more hypocritical with every generation. That problem is because churches have focused more on dogma than true doctrine and have been driven by their own lusts and desires rather than the spirit of God. I does not change the fact that the bible is clear in regards to marriage and relationships. Homosexual relationships are wrong, divorce is wrong. Saying so does not make me a homophobe or even make me hate homosexual people. Just like I don't hate divorced people. You can believe someone is wrong without hating them.
