Seriously how many people can stand to shop in the UC store? It is like 20 degrees in there during the winter. Can they not afford to pay their heating bill? How do they expect us customers to shop in there when its that cold in the entire store? Even the restrooms don't have heat! These people need to come off some of that money and make their store bareable to shop in, they cant make any money if its too cold in there to go shop in!

And in the summer, it's unbearably hot in there! Oh, they said 'one of their air conditioners was out but should be fixed in a day or so.' Went back in after about a week, still hot. Went back in a month later, still hot. Now that I read that it's COLD in there during the winter months, I guess their HEATING unit went out and 'should be fixed in a day or so.' Uh-huh... yeah, right.

I think they are too stingy to run the heat OR the air, and their prices are just about double what Walmart food prices are. Seriously! A small package of Cheddar Cheese is $2.48 at Walmart and $3.98 at EW James. A box of Ritz Crackers are $2.50 at Walmart and $3.98 at EW James. I mean, I would rather get more bang for my buck! It's the same product, and it's not because they pay their employees more, either! Just ask the employees!

Red Baron and tomb stone pizzas at walmart are anywhere from $2.50-$3.33 all the time. The same pizzas at EW's are $5 and up. Save-a-lot is owned by the the James family also and their prices are alot cheaper for the same products.

Store is always comfortable to me. But I'm also not going to camp out or socialize either. Prices are higher in some ways and the have good sales on others. I shop e.w.s bc walmart is jam packed most of the time. There are things I buy at ews just bc it's more convenient. But guess what u can shop where you want and ews will still be open!!!!

Save-A-Lot in Union City is owned by James's. That store is in serious need of new management. It is a disgrace to go in. The produce department is always almost empty and rotten vegetables etc. The meat dept is just as bad. The meat is way too high and awful looking. The last time I went in there all the meat was turning brown and pathetic looking. It seems to me they would take more pride in their stores. This Save-A-Lot is getting as bad as the one in Fulton. There are some very nice and clean Save-A-Lot Stores and this is not one of them.

Idiots, Of course E.W. James is more expensive than WalMart. EVERYONE is more expensive than WalMart. It's not because of what the employees are paid or necessarily because of greed. It is because WalMart buys so much more than anyone else that they get stuff cheaper than anyone else. It is easy to see why the country is in the shape that it is in when people are this stupid. Shocking that Sav-a-Lot is cheaper, I mean it couldn't be because their items are about to go out of date or anything.

Union City's Sav-a-Lot is right were it needs to be and for a good reason. It is there because that is where the biggest part of it's clientele are.(Big word, I know) That is not being said as a race thing either, it is there based on the income of that area of town. It is a wonder how the low income areas are in the areas that are the least educated huh?

Did you know EW pays anyone under the age of 21 less than $3 per hour under the Tennessee minor minimum wage law????(entirely legal) They work them nearly full-time hours, then, when they have completed whatever the time period is for that pay rate, they cut their hours drastically until they quit and start over with some other unsuspecting youth! What a way to take advantage of the youth of this county!! Don't believe me? Ask one of the high school students how much they get paid per hour next time you shop there!

I worked there when I was 19 and I made more than minimum wage, I have no idea what you are talking about. They don't have waitresses at E.W.'s so you are full of it.

And how old are you now???? My mistake, the youth minimum wage had increased to $4.25 per hour! And EW takes full advantage of it!!!! No, I an not an idiot, I am INFORMED, unlike you, and I am educated in the legality of such issues! I am NOT saying it is right to take advantage of this completely legal opportunity, but, they are fully within their legal right!

It's not 21 years old, after 18 years of age or 90 days employed they start paying you minimum wage or more. That's how EW's does it.
