After all the bias people from the police dept vote, we will be able to get an accurate vote.

I swear every damn post on here has something to do with bashing the police or fire..........here's something for ya " eat poo" . Everyone wants to bitch and complain, problem is that the ones doing it don't have the "balls" to do what they do.........

If you wanna talk about the mayor race then talk about the mayor race. Don't start the thread and then begin your childish school yard antics.

It's time for a change in this town. Just look at the streets. I have never seen so many potholes and I have been all over the country. This town looks like a third world country in the middle of the greatest country in the world. Down with Conklin and go Vinson! We need someone with new ideas and a back bone.

Go ahead and vote for Smith. The whole town will be under video surveillance! I don't think he would get much done sitting at home watching his cameras! Dan Vinson has some great ideas for improvement! The problem would be getting bull headed people to agree with change! I'll leave Conklin out of this, just like he should be!

I wish we could get the mayor back that got these wind turbines started and the new houses being built and the old houses torn down. At least with that mayor we have a beautiful new look to the downtown area and there are two new restaurants that will be opening soon and it looks like there might be an ordinance to require landlords to keep their properties clean. I liked that mayor.

So true about video surveillance. We all know Smith is running for mayor to put all the crooked cops back in power at the police dept. His first order of buisness will be do get rid of the current chief and put Bradbury back in. This town will go down hill! Guaranteed. I will be the first person to say I told you so, if we were so unfortanate to get Smith as Mayor!

Ok, I don't want Dennis Smith to be Mayor, but that does not mean I would ever stoop as low as you just have. And to brnig someone else into it out of nowhere. If you have a person problem with these people, you need to take it to them yourself. Have a little dignity next time you choose to post your opinion. It may be a site where you can be anonymous, but this is the kind of person you are, this is the kind of person your portray yourself to be. You may not want someone to be in a certain position, that is a politial opinion, there is no need for person attacks and completly outragous accusations.

Hey, all I did was ask a question. I guess I forgot to put a question mark. The rumor around town is, Smith and Barnhard enjoyed a little shower time together. Now, I'm not saying this is true. I'm just bringing it up as a question. A town full of homophobes and and cousin humpers, wouldn't want a gay mayor now would they?
Rumors

This was the same rumor that was back in 1996 or 1997 and it was Gary Green and Dan Bernhard not Dennis Smith. That was a rumor then and is a rumor now.

I got a flier from Dennis Smith. I believe that he has some great qualities. I also believe his focus is on the city not on the police department. The Police Department seems to be doing great under the new Chief. I think that the town has started to head in a new direction I believe Dennis is the one to keep the change going. You should all check out his facebook page. I have not received one item from danny nor Conklin. How many of you will truly vote? As far as video surveillance our current Mayor has it at the park...do you think that is a bad thing? I think that some people in this community only see a police badge as a horrible thing when in reality there is something behind a badge, its a man, a real person with feelings and families. Some of you should remember that. When you call 911 who shows up? Who is there when there are fights, guns, violence, drugs, and everything else? The police department. When you all are running out or afraid they go. They say goodbye to their families every night to protect you all. Good luck to all Mayor Elects. Good luck Mr. Smith. You have my vote.

Not bashing anyone here. Just found this curious.
If DSmith were to become mayer would he be appointing a police chief? And if he did wouldn't he be appointing his own Boss? And if you think about it he would be his "Boss's; Boss. That seems like a conflict of some sort.

Also, if I remember right he does something with computer contracts with the city. If he were mayor would he have to end the contracts?
Inquiring minds just want to know.
Questions

Cincinnati, OH

#17 Mar 29, 2011
I have known Dennis Smith since he worked at Nick's Automotive as a painter. I have never known him to refuse to help any who ever asked him to, just ask anyone who knows him personally. I am the kind of person that if I have a question I to go to the person that can give me the best chance of getting the answer.

I read Smith's brochures and had questions. The next day I saw him and asked him if he was going to change the police chief if he was elected and he said he knew that a lot of people will think he was running because of the police department. He said that there is no need to change anything at the police department because it is being lead by a very quantified and professorial chief and it would only hurt the city to change that.

I know he has a contract for the computers, but that is decided on and excepted by the council not the mayor. The contract is part of his network business that he has had for many years. As far as conflict that is no different that Steve Shoemaker selling the city products from Club 7, Ron Holt or Larry Amspaugh doing construction work, Tim Huess selling the city building supplies. Something to think about!

I think the main point is "Is Dennis going to resign from the police Department"? Because I see that as a major conflict of interest.

I'm sure he could no longer work for the PD. But I will guarantee if he becomes Mayor, Cobie can pack his bags! I've heard a convo right from Dennis' mouth about this one. So there ya go.
Sorry, I don't want liars in our local government. This is not a rumor, this is a fact
