If an elderly or disabled person shows visible signs of neglect such as being emaciated; do you think the caretaker should be charged? What are your thoughts on this issue?

if the person is in a facility contact the ombudsman and they will investigate..if the person is being taken care of at home contact social services...they are the only ones who can determine whether the caregiver is at fault or not

I know who to contact, but thanks for getting the information on here for others. I'm just wondering what peoples opinions are on this issue. I believe anyone at fault should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

This is true, people who abuse anyone, whether its children, elderly or spouses, boyfriend/girlfriends, whoever...they should be prosecuted.

If you know someone that is being abused physically, mentally or financially and do not report it you are as quilty as the abuser and possibly could be charged with neglect. You can call the local police they will involve the proper agency.
