Is Waskom, TX so broke that they have to give out tickets for 80 in a 70? I have found no other place like this. Yesterday, while trying to get my child home to Louisiana for a doctor's appointment, I got stopped and ticketed. I was in disbelief. I tried to explain to the officer what was going on, but he continued writing. I plan on writing a letter to the judge with proof that my son was seen when we got back. Anyone think that will do any good? I guess I was the lucky one yesterday. Lord knows that everytime you come through Waskom, there is someone getting a ticket. In Louisiana, the AG is investigating these small town ticket writers.

Do the speed limit and stop whining!! 70 means 70 NOT 80. Get a vanity plate that reads: DUH

THE SPEED LIMIT IS POST AT 55 THAT MEAN YOU MUST MAINTAIN YOUR SPEED AT LEAST AT 60 TO 62 MILES HOUR ANYTHING OVER THAT MEAN YOU ARE BREAKING THE LAW.BESIDE IF ARGUING ABOUT 10 MILES OVER THE SPEED LIMIT YOU MUST DRIVE FAST ALL THE TIME AND JUST GO CAUGHT.YOU WAS GOING TO THE DOCTOR NOT HOSPITAL.JUST FOLLOW THE POST MARK SPEED LIMIT SIGN AND WILL NOT GET CITATION FOR SPEEDING.GET OVER IT AND SLOW DOWN BEFORE YOU KILL YOU AND YOUR CHILD.

Well, you were going 10 miles over the posted speed limit and causing a danger to all drivers around you.
As for using your child's doctor's appointment as an excuse as the reason why you were speeding...nope, don't think that will work. If you knew you had to be there at a certain time, you could have left early enough to drive the miles to get there. And that's exactly what the judge will tell you.

Waskom is the worst speed trap I've ever encountered. Anyone who speeds through there is just asking for it. I live in Waskom and have NEVER been past on I-20 without seeing at least one person stopped. More often then that, there are two units stopping cars about a mile apart from one another.

I got stopped in Waskom on hwy 80 on Christmas Eve one year for doing 9 over.(The speed limit had just decreased and he was waiting for me.) On top of that, the guy was a total jerk.

Daily Horoscope for December 7

Leo

If there have been slight tensions or frictions between you and a loved one recently, this is the perfect day to get them out into the open, thrash them out and then forget about them. Things could get quite heated in the process but don't worry because they'll work out all right in the end. Put as much energy into kissing and making up as you did in arguing!
