I have only been to the casino's twice but wouldn't return due to the awful smell of smoke permeating all parts of the casino. At Mohegan Sun people are allowed to smoke outside the restaurants and shops and that's disgusting! I couldn't stand the smell of cigarette smoke.

I think before the State of CT tries to ban smoking in casinos completely, they should look long and hard at what's happening in Atlantic City with that. The casinos would definately lose patrons and money and the State would get even less than they are getting now in this downturned economy. Smokers have RIGHTS, too.

I think that the state is going a little too far, wanting to ban smoking, putting cameras on the highway to catch speeders, raising DMV Fee's,Adding 5 cents deposit to all containers, water included. Why not just charge us for the air we breathe. After all we are all in this together right Gov.Rell!

Yes, If you act respectable it is.

Here are few items you must follow to be accepted in our free country...

1. Don't toss your butts on our grounds.

2. Don't blow smoke at American faces.

3.Don't harm your children by smoking in closed areas.

4. Don't waste our tax dollars on smokes if you get a governmemt check for not making enough money to keep yourself or raise a family... but seem to always have money to smoke.

Most of them have been broken for so long.......

Americans already took steps to eliminate them....Follow them few hints and maybe things won't get any worse for you and your smoking buddies. youou

i vote for smoke free at the casinos, the air is awful and keeps me away due to allergic reaction to the smoke, which ends up in a full blown asthma attack.

Didnt we learn a long time ago not to interfere with the lives of Indians on their land. just because we get a share of the slots does not mean the state can pressure the Indian organizations!

The casinos should ban smoking but offer smokers some "smoke lounges" to smoke in, much like the larger airports have now. This way smokers can enjoy smoking without poisoning those who don't smoke.

In this economic environment, it would be impossible for the casinos to ban smoking. Already their revenue is down and I don't believe anymore downturn of their profits will be tolerated under it's soverign nation status.

I think the casinos should obey all state laws including the ban on smoking in public buildings.
They are forced to obey the state's alcohol laws.

Don`t ban smoking in the casino`s. Winsor Canada casinos have a smoking ban now and they have lost alot of business. We need our jobs. Are the non smoking people going to pay our wages if we loose our job?

Smoking should be banned!! I do not smoke, but smell like smoke just by walking through the smoking areas. Smokers do not care about their health, but they should learn to care about other peoples health.

I go to the casino once or twice a month and every time I sit down at a comfortable machine, one that keeps me from losing my shirt, a smoker will sit down next to me and I have to move because it makes me sick. My sinuses get stuffed and the eyes burn. I hope they ban this awful habit and give smokers a room that is theirs to smoke in. Maybe one that allows them to sit, enjoy a cup of coffee or a drink and have comfortable chairs. And give them a patio to sit out on in the warmer weather also. I use the smoke-free casino when I first get there also but it doesn't offer enough slot machines to keep my interest.

I think the state should keep it's nose out of private business. The casinos already have accomodations for non-smokers, as a courtesy.
People that don't want to be around smoking, have the freedom to avoid that area.
It's basically just another communistic move, revoking one more of our rights.
Why don't they make smoking illegal altogether? Is it because they make a ton of revenue from the sales? That is hypocritical.
What will they do when the revenue they receive from the casinos begins to go down, because of this?

In regard to banning smoking completely in the casinos, I want to state that I don't think it should be done. Being part of the Indian nation, the casinos are not regulated the same as the rest of the state, so how is it they can now impose a smoking ban on them? Why doesn't Mr. Blumenthal concentrate on bringing more revenue in for the State to relieve the taxpayers.

I don't think they should or could make the casinos smoke free cuz it is tribal owned not state owned.

I don't know about anyone else but I am seeing more and more of our rights being taken away. I thought this was supposed to be a free country. We are loosing more and more of our freedom. Next they will be saying we can't smoke in our own homes or automobiles.
Smokers are being discriminated against. I thought discrimination was illegal.
I miss having a cigarette while waiting for my order to come in a restaurant or with my drink at a bar or restaurant, I don't bowl anymore cuz I can't smoke (no fun having to change shoes to go outside). Some places you can't even smoke outside have to go up the block or on the street.(YNNH)
Sorry this is so long. I could keep going but I won't.
