Mohegan Sun is disgusting, we were there for a concert recently and while leaving saw 2 toddlers sitting in their striollers wide awake at 11pm at night watching Grandma play the slots. In the parking garage witnessed an accident involving a couple so intoxicated they sidewiped another car while trying to leave and head back to Massachusetts. Unfortunately this is probably the norm for this palce on any given day. When you peel back the high end stores and all the glitz it is a garbage dump.

You have seen the light, everyone of these casinos are dumps even in Vegas, what a waste, if all the O2 tanks blew up at once the roof would fall there is more clear tubing in a casino than in 100 Aquarium shops

Maybe this casino will pay for schools in Connecticut; isn't that what the F they talked about years ago when they began building them? Another bunch of BS the govt. says to appease people temporarily. I think politicians that don't live up to their promises, should be sent into space without space suits... seriously man.. what the F, this country is turning in to? Where does the buttload of tax on cigarettes go? The increase has been huge, that should be tons of more money the state makes, but where is it?

well.... I lived in Flagstaff, AZ in 1995 and went to Vegas once. The place was amazing, cheap, fresh, awesome food, everyone is happy, entertaining. You go to these casinos and u get the typical Connecticut people, insecure, self absorbed, think because they drive an SUV or BMW that they're better than you. Morons they are.. in Vegas though, you could run into anybody and they're kool, here you say hi to someone and they don't say anything back, insecure idiots, really. The security guards here are tough and they have such a tough job, chasing crickets around the parking lot. Vegas is about catering / entertaining people, the casinos in CT are about money grubbing, addicted slime.

The state is now totally dependent on the lottery and casino...without the revenue, the economy would collapse. They couldn't get rid of gambling if they wanted to. Our state legislators have led us to ruin, and we still can't fund our schools.

I have a relative in Georgia who just graduated with her bachelor's degree and incurred very little debt because Georgia has something called the HOPE scholarship. It's a scholarship that pays full tuition and fees and includes a book allowance that is funded via the state lottery system. All a student must do is maintain a 3.0 GPA, meaning that it's merit-based and that someone like me - a Caucasian male who doesn't qualify for all the grants and many scholarship because I'm either not poor or of a different color - actually has a chance to qualify for something that will help me.

With these two casinos generating revenue, it baffles me CT can't do something similar.

This is the state of waste.

All the far salaries and pensions for political appointees and state workers and free health insurnce...We have the highest debt per resisent and the highest ratio od state workers to population..If we laid 10% off like California & other states it would be good.
