Live the life, and then write what you have learned. I have lived on the Mashantucket Pequot reservation since I was 7 years old. I have learned more about my history than any school has ever tried teaching. I grew up dancing at pow wows and traveled around the world because of my culture. While traveling we were also teach other tribes and learning things from other tribes. Just because now we have casinos on our lands doesn’t discredit our authenticity. The casinos' designs are for the outsiders, not for us. Go the the Mashantucket Pequot museum if you would like to learn something new, something real.
(what I am writing is my opinion only. IT IS NOT THE OPINIONS OF THE MASHANTUCKET PEQUOT TRIBE OR THAT OF THE USMC)-Lcpl Ortiz, Miguel, R. USMC-
