Did Native Americans ever pass through the iron age? I mean, my thought is that they didn't do anything regarding metallurgy. Seems they would have kept on living just as they had for countless centuries. Its been a difficult adjustment while giving them the luxury of time, so many blow it at the bottle store.

It never ceases to amaze me when rocket scientist's like Thomas Wilsonville make such stupid posts about NDN's. WTF does the stone/iron age have to do with the price of tea in China. Nothing. My fore-fathers were removed from 10 million acres they had controlled millenium to this area,(which nobody wanted) back in the 1800's. One of the reasons was to get away from dumb-a$$es like Thomas Wilsonville. & what's this BS about the bottle store? Did Wilsonville notice an NDN standing in line behind a hundred other people? I think instead of making stupid racist post, Thomas Wilsonville should stick to his/her job at NASA. hahahahahhahaha dumb she-yap-oh-ky-yush.

As a matter of fact, Yes they did understand metallurgy. Check out the book "Oregon Gold", in there you will find photograph's of Native artifacts, stolen from them and hidden away from the mainstream. This was done because it would portray the Native as being smart, and human, thus demolishing the lie that they were barbaric savages and sub-human.

The Native also had a good understanding of gold , and how it made the newcomers sick. So sick that they would kill their own mothers for just a little bit. This is why the Native wanted nothing to do with the newcomers, they had the ghost sickness, and feared that they would become just like them. Unfortunately some did, especially after they were put into concentration camps and starved. Newcomers call them reservation's and are still running them to this day, starving the Native's.

If you took Thomas out of the city and slopped him into the forest...he would be considered among those who never went past the iron age. Don't feel too bad. He would be dead within a matter of days. Even with their cell phones in their pockets, city folks are getting lost in the mountains and in the Gorge. Makes one wonder if there's any iron in cell phones...
