Crossing the Railroad

How would one prod the railroad to repair the rail crossing on Oklahoma Ave? Even in a car or pickup it is rough enough to loose several teeth. The longer this problem goes on, the worse it gets. The crossings at both Missouri St. and at Colorado St. are what we would expect in our community. Ulysses is a great town, the improvements we have seen so far have been phenomenal. Oklahoma Ave has a black eye. We as citizens should and do demand better.

I heard the Cimmaron Valley Railroad is owned by somebody that lives in Denver. Why don't the taxpayers of Grant County get together and buy the line so we can make whatever improvements we want whenever we want?

Not me I dont know about the other citizens. Slated for repair meaning it needs to be fixed. And how do you know this? Interesting..

No, but I am glad to hear it. A few years ago, in the Ulysses News, it was reported that a bicyclist in the Bike Across Kansas ride crashed there. I believe that it was called by a participant the most dangerous crossing in Kansas, or something to that effect. I also remember a few motorcyclists going down a summer ago on the Toy Run, resulting in a severely broken leg and a long hospital stay.
