Those that remain in Cairo should remain at their own risk. Don't be a nanny "send help" free loader if the flood wall fails either !!!

No one can guarantee blowing that levee will even save Cairo, it could flood anyway. This is a VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.

If you are right now below water level behind levees in Cairo Illinois, GET OUT! Forget that it's "optional" treat it as saving your own life!

Don't be like the 9th Ward in New Orleans, trusting your life to some politicians who don't have the IQ of a fence post and who don't care about you as much as their new suit!

Don't give your life to further someone's political career!!!

It is quite interesting. Everyone seems to think Cairo is the only place at issue. The entire river basin is in jeapordy.Hickman, Memphis, vicksberg and other towns on the river are in danger. No one seems to be able to see past Cairo .(tunnel vision?)

And, I would like to add that, not only are we one of the more active Topix forums, we are probably the most civilized.

The troll comes and then he goes off to work and we don't hear from him for long periods of time.

Thanks. You are correct. I did misunderstand. It is just the frustration with some of the posts. I am in a much better position than most affected by this disaster and yet am so helpless. At least we can help some others in Cairo when this is over. All we could with alabama was send money for now.
