KC Meadows is now banning comments from stories. For about 12 months, KC has been called out for her anti-male sexism.

It appears KC is afraid of the local citizens who keep asking the questions like:

"If almost half of domestic abusers and more than half of child abusers arrested locally, are women...then why does KC print only 2% of the female domestic abusers in headlines and front pages, while she prints 100% of the male domestic abusers up in big stories and headlines posts...and why does she print 1% of local female child abusers and 100% of local male abusers in headlines?"

and:

"Why does KC plaster each year of papers with positive stories about positive women on the cover, and leave the local positive men out?"

and:

"Why does KC crop out the positive volunteer men in the front page pictures and only show the women 90% of the time....when at any given local event, at least half of the volunteers are men, sometimes more?"

Finally, KC banned the comments on the stories. This keeps her dissenters from commenting on those stories and asking the above questions about her sexism. Which keeps readers who click on the front web page story from ever seeing those questions.

This should tell you much about KC Meadows:

1) she's controlling and dictating

2) she's a sexist

3) she's afraid of dissent

4) she realized readers were reading those questions, comparing the stories, and going...Hmmmm why DOES KC do that?

Any editor of a newspaper who is afraid of dissent, isn't qualified to be an editor.

Any editor of a newspaper who bans comments that interfere with her biased agenda, isn't qualified to be an editor.

Any editor of a newspaper who spends her every day for 10 years...dissenting and pointing fingers at individual citizens and officials...then bans her own dissenters, isn't qualified to be an editor.

Any good news in this? Oh yeah.

In order to effectively show the sexism to local citizens and business-owners in our activism, beyond copy and proof, we need KC to get good and mad. We need her to respond by banning the questions. We need her to show that when she's held accountable with copy and proof that she's a sexist, she responds by: Banning comments and dissent.

In conclusion:

Thank You KC Meadows :-)
We need you to behave this way for as long as possible to gather as much as we can for next summer's boycotts and protests.

Are you kidding me??? I am getting so sick and tired of totally delusional people who have nothing better to do but do drugs and get all weird and crazy. If you were REALLY dedicated to your cause you'd douse yourself with gasoline and ignite yourself in KC's parking space so she has to park on the street- that'll show her. Instead you go crazy here and start acting like the Not Like One crowd. We get it. KC doesn't like men. Neither does Carmel Angelo. Nor do many other women but frankly looking at the men up here I don't blame them.

And why in the heck are you crazy over domestic violence? Did your wife/ girl friend beat you up? My advice is don't date fat welfare tweakers or, if you do, the next time she tells you to fetch her a twinkie or take out the garbage move a little quicker.

But please, for all of us, PLEASE quit posting your stupid domestic violence threads about poor little men getting beat up by their women, and how KC doesn't care...because none of us care.

Merry Christmas. If I knew your address I'd send you a box of tissue paper.

"because none of us care"

To the contrary people all over Ukiah care and are becoming activists including local business owners.

Just ask the mens/boys/children's rights websites about their dozens of new hits and new readers and subscribers from Ukiah over the last 12 months :)

As for your attempts at humiliating men who are physically abused by their wives, futile. Our influence on them is much stronger.

This is all part of the usual course of things with sexist feminist editors, none of us are surprised at how it's rolling out, so none of us are going crazy and 'acting like the Not Like One crowd', all perfectly normal and common methods here.

Strange isn't it that you're not saying KC and the newspaper are going crazy with their reactions of banning comments.

No, that's not a crazy reaction. Our reactions are crazy. Funny.

Interesting how you say you understand why women don't like us (funny that too since almost half our advocates are women), then you talk about women like this: "fat, welfare, tweakers, who want a twinkie" (fat tweakers?)

As for the emotionally and physically abused men you call 'poor little', they'll likely go further in life than you. Once they're out and through the fires they tend to latch onto personal growth with a passion and become exceptionally productive men.

That's what happens with men who thought loving their wife meant staying with her no matter how much her verbal and physical attacks destroyed his self-esteem then he leaves and finds his self-worth and grows beyond the typical person.

Merry Christmas, save your tissue for yourself you'll need it, bad cold season.

Woah there Ditsy- I have more ex wives than you have pairs of socks, and only one was able to kick my ass and that was only one time when I was passed out drunk and she beat me with the telephone receiver. Had it been a fair fight it would have been closer, but do you know what I did after she beat me up?

I divorced her. She called me all kinds of names, tore up all our pictures, threw all my stuff out on the front, wished me a slow painful death but- at the end of the relationship- I divorced her.

And far from whining and crying about how women are biotches on some forum once I divorced her I celebrated by staying drunk as a monkey for three months, during which time I met my next ex wife, only then I picked out someone who was much smaller than me, and of a calmer disposition.

Then when I divorced her she didn't beat me up, but she did tear up all our pictures and throw all my stuff out on the front lawn.

Clinically speaking though, the sex with the woman who beat me up was pretty hot, and left me choked out several times, but the steamiest I got with my second, more passive wife was the time she drew pink hearts on my thighs with a Sharpie.

Anyway I wish you a Merry Christmas, and a smaller, more obedient wife. May you find a good one.

Alright so you relate and have as much or more experience than other men out there in the situation. And you're an alpha male personality like me who can stand up to people or walk away depending.

Not everybody's like that though. A lot of these young guys now are raised by male bashing media in every form, convinced that they're losers by the time they're 9 years old, feminists school teachers piling on their two cents for 18 years.

These guys marry a woman like your ex, they get beat on and told they're losers every day by her, by the media, by newspapers over emphasizing men's crimes, by news anchors and reporters shouting stupidity like "there's a war on women!" when violence against women has gone down every year for 30 years.

Far as the newspapers insisting on over emphasizing the men criminals, they're only teaching our young boys that their potential is loser "like most men...see our headlines?". Some have young boys around here and they come before local media. And it's not like anyone's made unreasonable requests asking for equal coverage. It's simply solved by printing fairly.

Besides I've read plenty of your past comments, I'm not convinced you'd be such a hard nose in real life with a young man or boy in an abusive relationship, you'd probably pat them on the back and wink and tell them you get it, and to light a shuck before the woman finds a weapon. Maybe.

Tis the season and it's about that time so disagreements aside, enjoy yours.

KC is a fat, man hating dyke. There are a lot of them in this county. And many of them have high positions in the county and other agencies. It is a shame, and I am not happy about it. But the liberal emasculated males in this county think it's great. It's sad that a place so beautiful has such morons living in it.

KC and I haven't always agreed but I think she's doing a fantastic job of presenting balanced stories. If I were a newspaper editor it would be very hard for me to present just the facts and not taint every story with my own feelings. KC has done a great job of this. On the other hand the editorial and opinion pages for the exact place for letting ones feelings and opinions be heard.

Keep up the great work KC. Oh and Merry Christmas

Totally inappropriate, Mendo Mike. I have read your comments before, and you often seemed pertinent. In this case, you miss the point: a free & responsive press is an underpinning of democracy. Absence of dissent is a sure sign of hegemony. In sociopolitical terms, we live in a time of mass cognitive dissonance [something's happening, but you don't know what it is, do you, Mr. Jones?].

somethins happenin here
what it is / ain't exactly clear...

And you actually think there isn't a concerted program to deconstruct the american male? Macho sporto kneejerk bravado is what brought this country to its clear and present crises. Your comment serves to cloud the issue further, and, like KC & her Sunshine Band's version of reality, it squelches and discourages dissent. Shame on you.

KC has been one of the worst things to befall Ukiah in the past 25 years. Under her leadership, the Urinal has become a divisive paragon of yellow journalism (see "sound-Off, circa 1994). She does, indeed, ban those opinions of those who disagree with her positions. She hires a cadre of $6.00/hour 8th grade journalism drop-outs as "reporters' and turns them loose on her hand-picked carrion.
BTW, I've been told that TWK works for free.... he's overpaid.

The comments about sexism may have something to do with KC and or the newspaper banning comments, but I'm not sure it could be pointed to as the entire cause. Keep in mind there is a lot of dissent here on Topix from citizens that isn't about sexism or gender. KC gets criticism on several different levels from several different people.

That's a good thing, every newspaper editor should not only accept criticism and dissent, but happily embrace it.
If they're not guilty of what they're accused, they have nothing to worry about. People won't listen to the dissenters and won't build up over time. But if the dissenters are making valid points, and proving them, people will listen and start voicing their opinion too. Life as an editor, you roll with it.
Newspaper editors spend their days pointing fingers at others and their sins and mistakes. Likewise they should be mature and willing to accept dissent and criticism.

From someone who has worked for KC Meadows I can tell you this is absurrd. KC is a great boss, not sexist (she's married} or a dictator. She's a really nice lady who was always open to others ideas and concerns. You clearly have no idea what your talking about. As far as no longer having the Daily Journal participate in Topix...Im sure there were others who shared the decision as The Daily Journal is owned by a corporation.

Not absurd, spot on. Many people have worked with KC over the years the Journal has always had a huge turnover rate. We all know KC quite well. Marriage to a man means nothing, millions of sexist women are married to men. We know what we're talking about the proof is in the pudding er copy.
MediaNewsgroup has nothing to lose and everything to gain by allowing the forum that increases both interest and readership numbers, while giving the corporate overseers, publisher and editor an inside view of how local citizens fell about the newspaper day to day.
KC the sexist banned therm. That's why she re-posted stories that had dissenting opinions regarding sexism but not the other stories, then didn't allowed comments on them. She thought she was "winnning". She only spurred on twice the activism.
But your thoughtfulness towards others misguided or not is commendable.
