In a surprising turnabout, international tourism to Mexico showed a sharp increase this summer — a sign that tourists may be putting aside worries about the economy and fears of drug-related violence, analysts say.

Foreign visitors arriving by air to Mexico jumped to 7.1 million in the first eight months of the year — up nearly 20% from the same period in 2009 — with most visitors coming from the U.S. and Canada, according to Mexican tourism officials.

Actually if you look at statistics far more foreign tourists are killed in America than are killed in Mexico. Yes Mexico has drug violence but that's Mexican on Mexican crime; we have criminals that target tourists and it got so bad in Florida Enterprise Car Rental had to take their logo bumper stickers off their rental fleet to prevent their customers being targeted for crime by their local dirt bags.

Yes Mike and that was 20 years ago. Not that there is any excuse. The US tourist industry is HUGE and diverse in comparison to that of Mexico. How many tourists to the USA have had their EARS CUT OFF and sent home for Ransom Payments?

Also, how many foriegn countries have a standing security advisory regarding their citizens travel to the USA?
Hmmmm, NONE!!!

Who taught you math skills, John McClown?

1991- 35,000 serious assaults, rapes, car jackings, muggings and murders committed against tourists in Florida alone- Great Britain issues a travel advisory.

2008- A total of 34 tourists victims of homicide in all of Mexico.

The facts don't support your statements.
