The 4-1 vote with Hamburg dissenting, was in regard to approving an MOU for Pinoleville Pomo Nation restaurant casino hotel. The Board of Supervisors have been asked to reconsider their signage of the MOU, as it may be misinterpreted by State government that the County endorses Indian gambling in the Ukiah Valley, which is not the intent of the Board according to Supervisor John McCowen representing Ukiah. A lawsuit is currently proceeding with trial on August 2, 2013 by StopGratonCasino.com to invalidate the casino MOU in Rohnert Park in an effort to shut down the gambling hall under construction. The same principle is at stake in Ukiah, in that both proposed gambling locations violate State law, and could be stopped in a court of law. Yet Mendocino County Counsel is proud of the MOU with Pinoleville.
