Tonight, I went to the Southgate 4 Movie theatre in liberal to see
“Watchman”. This movie is based on a Graphic Novel intended for adults. The movie is rated R, has full frontal male and female nudity, Sex scenes, very Graphic violence which included gunshots to the head, people exploding, etc Just an all around ADULT Movie. What I was amazed to see were the number of 2 to 5 year old children in the theatre with their parents.
This movie ISNT Spiderman or Batman and why children were allowed into this movie is beyond me. I can understand the Southgate 4 wants to make a buck, but seems to me parents should be warned. I knew what this movie was about having read the novel years ago. I’m also sure there were others in the theater who knew what the movie was about as well, I’m just wondering why take your 4 year old to an R rated movie such as that.
I couldn’t help but notice the constant crying, the constant questions from the kids, kids running up and down the isle during the entire movie. My wife and I went to see an adult movie. If we had decided to see a G or PG movie I would expected the kids but NOT for a movie like “Watchmen”
I liked the movie, but I'm 39 years old and I think I would have enjoyed it more if it weren’t for the people with small children expecting Spiderman. That and the fact the surround sound in the theatre didn’t work for most of the movie. I damn sure won’t be going back to that theatre again to blow 30 dollars for THAT kind of experience.

If you all want to blow $30.00 dollars for a night out with your husband and some people bring every child the have because they won't get a baby-sitter, go for it.

I had the exact same experience last night!(And to many other previous nights...) I went to see Watchmen. I'm 42. I'm allowed.
In walks a mom and dad with about a 6 year old and a 9 year old. As they start walking up the center aisle I politly ask them if they know this is a rated R movie. Of course they know, and I shouldn't care I'm told. I DO care! I'm a Dad who would NEVER let such small children watch something like this!
I walk out of the theater after some discussion and this woman starts dropping the F-Bomb on me.
I talk to the manager who says "There is nothing we can do." I tell him that's it's his theater and that they are well within their rights to restrict small children from R rated movies even if the parents wont.
I'm tired of this. I'm starting a community group to push this theater (and others) into making responsible policies!

The theater in Liberal totally sucks. The idiots running it really don't care what anyone thinks. It is always dirty, stuffy and the sound is awful. Me and most people I know just drive to Guymon or elsewhere for movies, because the movie-watching experience in Liberal is SO BAD.

I am glad that someone else is taking over and making some much overdue changes!

I'm with everyone on not taking kids to rated R movies, but what in the heck does that have to do with race? I don't recall anyone saying anything about that particular issue. You need to read the posts carefully before making stupid remarks like this.
That's why all this race crap will never go away because of dumbasses like you.
I didn't think it was funny at all, as it was judged!
