My prayers are with those who are effected by this fire. Thumbs up to all the fire fighters, volunteers, and law enforcement agencies. Silver City is a beautiful place and it is so sad to hear of this destruction. God be with you all...

The fire in Silver City, NM started directly on the side of the road, which leads me to believe that someone must have flicked their butt out the window. Please, if you are a smoker put it out in the car. This mind you is a theory, so please don't be offended. The forestry service has put this request out as well. Just a concerned citizen that has seen the destruction.

Hearts going out to the families whose homes were lost in the fire, and thanks to the volunteer firefighters as well as Forest Service and Forestry wildland firefighters working o the blaze!
Best wishes for a speedy recovery to the firefighter injured battling the Silver Acres wildfire.

People who live on the coast, and on river flood plains, wonder why they risk getting flooded. People who live in high desert areas wonder why they risk getting burned out by wildfires.

Oh well. The lack of foresight by many Americans I still find quite amazing.

I am originally from Silver City & both my parents & my In-Laws live there & I am just grateful to God that there was no casualties. I am very saddened to see these pictures. I will say a prayer for everyone involved.

That is the most ridiculous, insensitive and rude comment a person could make. I imagine the people of the high desert prefer living in a place that is not plagued by nasty people like yourself.

My wishes and thoughts go out to everyone in Silver City! I wish you safe!
