This is really unfortunate. The mining and oil and gas industries are helping to shield New Mexico's economy from the national/global turmoil. Hopefully, this is just a temporary setback to the copper industry. We need in-situ uranium mining to proceed.

The mines around Grant county have been in a decline since the 80s. the state never even blinks when a mine closes.

At least we don't have 45% unemployment like we did in the 80's.
