State OKs reducing bonding requirement for Tyrone mine

The state of New Mexico has approved a $22-million bonding requirement reduction for Freeport McMoRan Copper and Gold Inc.'s Tyrone mine for completed reclamation work on closed "tailings" storage areas, the state's Energy, Minerals and Natural Resources Department announced Wednesday.
