it cost money , but in the flatts where the grass is at it's highest they need to think about taking a blade and cut fire breaks where they can. it helps, but again against 60 mph odds are still against you though. again the fire service in grant county did a magnificent job against terrible odds , and grant county will rise to help the ones who lost their homes

No, instead of spending money on man hours and equipment hours cutting fire breaks, why not just ranch big open spaces, such as the one between HWY 90 and Ridge Road??? Cattle keep the grasses at a short length. Hmmmmm....wait a minute, thats what we have been doing for a hundred years, unless we get forced off of our grazing allotments on public lands.

All I am saying is something as simple and natural as cattle grazing may have prevented this tragidy.
