I don't want your news story from a Republican, i want you to tell me what the Republican party was going to do with the economy in shambles. You can bad mouth your president all you want, we still want to know what your party was going to do.

The Democrats are the ones that are "Screaming" Health Care Crisis!! It would be alot cheaper to just give health care to the few million that don't have it than screw this country forever!!! That would include covering all the millions of illegals that we are ALREADY paying for! Why is No one making the obvious statement; "It's the economy stupid" to these morons in Washington? Of all the crisis we are being told exist that one is the BIGGEST!!!!! This president was suppose to bring this country together-How is that hopey changey thing working for ya? |

What do you do if you're a republican to fix the economy, or what are some of the purposals put forth? That appears to be your question. #1 reduce taxes on the small to mid sized business' #2 reduce the fed interest rate to banks who loan to small and mid sized business #3 instead of offering "Bank bail outs" offer special interest free money to the banks who make the loans to small business to help jump start the economy. #4 remove the threat of the cost of universal health care from the table, as that is scaring the HELL out of small business owners and making them not want to make new investments and/or cut back on investments they all ready have in place. #5 Sell back any and all shares of any company the government has any interest in let the free market do what it's best at.(which is improvise and make the changes needed to be successful) #6 Instead of extending un-employment benefits, why not offer incentives to companies that hire new employees. Right now the stimulous plan has created jobs at a cost of $304,000.00 per job. For that price tag, we should have at least 10 times that many. It's just not efficient. If at my job I got a certain job done, but at a cost of 10 times what was alotted for that job, I would be fired in a heartbeat, yet everyone just sees that as business as usual in washington. It's complete B.S. |

Cool, you indeed have a point. I won't sit here and defend pork spending but, would you support a public option for those who are uninsured? I am more concerned about the americans who are dying without healthcare coverage.
A recent study found that 62 percent of all bankruptcies filed in 2007 were linked to medical expenses. Of those who filed for bankruptcy, nearly 80 percent had health insurance. (Himmelstein, D, E., et al,“Medical Bankruptcy in the United States, 2007: Results of a National Study, American Journal of Medicine, May 2009.) According to another published article, about 1.5 million families lose their homes to foreclosure every year due to unaffordable medical costs. (Robertson, C.T., et al.“Get Sick, Get Out: The Medical Causes of Home Mortgage Foreclosures,” Health Matrix, 2008.) This isn't what America is about. Why are we spending so much more than every other large society; this is the United States of America. |

Well, honestly, I feel if we unregulated the insurance companies a little, as far as where they can operate it would help greatly.
As it stands right now If I live in Kansas, I can only get insurance based on what my state laws allow. My employer can only offer what the state I live in allows. If you allow all the health insurance companies to compete in an open market, the competition alone will allow for more affordable health care and better benefits which have no other choice but to look out for the customer (you and me) because if they don't, I can promise you there competitor will. I completely disagree with charging me a fee because I choose to not get health insurance, or make my emloyer pay more for not giving me the health insurance the government thinks I should have. If I take a job with certain pay and certain benefits, than I agree to the terms of my employment. Honestly, I would rather negotiate my own pay and benefits, than the gevernment decide what they think is best for me. Now as for, are some people going to get somewhat lost in the system regardless of what the system is, I feel they will. However, I will always choose the option that allows me to have as much control as possible, simply because I don't feel that with the government having to deal with millions of different people and situations, they could have any real idea what my situation requires. I do however believe a free market situation nationwide will force insurance providers to creativly design a type of coverage I and you will need. If you could please give me one government run entity or program that is successfull and not looming some type of bankrupcy I may change my mind but, not to be rude, good luck with that. |

Deregulation doesn't work. Texas did that with utilities and they pay as much as 2 to 3 times more than we do in Missouri and Kansas. I would know, I work for a Texas Energy company. Why do you think insurance companies are fighting the public option, it's because it will make them accountable and not let them gouge customers the way they've been so accustomed to doing.

1 He may not be "owned" by insurance and big oil but it's only because he already sold his soul to Acorn and Unions! And your credibility to determine if others are "dillusional" or not was lost the moment you chose what name you were going to post under. |

Ok, let me braek it down for you a little. YOUR personal taxes have not gone up? Do you really believe that? just wait till his legislation goes into affect. I'm shocked that you say you work for an energy company. Cap and trade and climate change legislations will drastically tax and fine almost all energy companies unless they can create energy with little or no carbon imprint. If you look at your ledger of your personal expenses you will not see an increase in the "tax" column, what you will see is an increase in fuel prices, electric bills, property taxes. By taxing the major corporations the government can better disquise the costs to the average American. As we put taxes and restrictions on companies to try to fund big government, they are: #1 going to have to pass those charges on to customer (you and me) #2 reduce costs (jobs for you and me) So what we are talking about if pelosi, obama, and others get their way is higher taxes on large and small business, which makes them reduce spending (less jobs) and makes them raise prices (you money is not worth as much) So, if you would like, go ahead and be the typical self centered person who says stuff like you just did "my taxes haven't gone up" and praise the direction this country is going, or take a look at the big picture and think a little ahead of the game and see what is coming and what is being talked about on Capital hill and yes even occassionally on Fox news. For the record, they are a legit news organization, not that it really matters. Did you know we got some of the stimulouse money right here in Coffeyville? It was to enlarge our police force. Do you know the down side of that? We are obligated to maintain the level of spending even after the stimulous funds run out or we will have to pay federal fines and rish losing funding elsewhere. What about the purposed tax on soda and juice which has been purposed? Do you really want the government steering you in directions they want you to go, or do you want to feel free to purchase what you want without penalty? |

On Veterans Day Harvard school of Medicine released a new study that showed 1.5 MILLION veterans, that's right, VETERANS that risked their lives for you and me. There are 2,600 veterans that die each year because they have no insurance. This is a disgrace to our country and to our veterans. Another horrible example of why HEALTH CARE REFORM IS NEEDED.

1 I guess Joe Wilson and the Republicans help this bringing together by screaming liar to the President while a live, important speech is underway. I guess Rush Limbaugh and his listeners want the President to fail too. Just sayin, there can't be unity with a bunch of hurt feelings and sore losers in your party. You got your asses handed to you last year, suck it up. |
||||
You sound like an idiot. I'm sure you are actually fairly intellegent, but Obama was called a liar because what he was saying was a lie. So, in your mind, if a person in an role of leader is telling you a bold face lie which can be proven than you feel nobody should call him on it, or bring it to the attention of the general public? maybe it's just me, but that's not how America works. If you see a spade, you call it a spade, you don't beat around the bush and hope everyone will just figure it out on there own. As far as Rush, who gives a damn, he's not even in the republican party. By the way, if you had a lick of sence you would realize that Rush complains about republicans also all the time. That doesn't get as much press, but it does happen. By the way, nothing I have said have anything to do with "hurt feelings" I couldn't give a damn what party is in power, or what name we are suppose to pledge our allegience. What I care about and what my posts have been about are the terrible policies that are being passed as we speak, and the looming negativity that is going to follow if some serious issues don't get changed. |

1 Who said the "n" word? What in the world are you talking about? The only mention of race that I have seen in this thread was some mentions about al sharpton. He is a racist, just youtube some of his speaches. Obama's church was and is a racist entity. How far do you think a former KKK member would get in a presidential race? just something to think about. |
||||
ummm... veterans can go to veteran hospitals and get damn near anything done for a lower cost than what most people would pay for a co-pay for a dr. visit. I work with a veteran with no insurance. He just had eye surgery for $75.00. He has monthly heart meds that cost him $4.00 per month. What kind of health insurance does he really need? I do understand, if they have to go to a normal hospital or dr. it's completely out of pocket, so if the want peice of mind they should probly get health insurance, but they have most of their need met. I do appriciate the attempt at making the most of a holiday, as the president likes to do to try to push and agenda or attempt to get a "neener neener" on anyone who apposes him. |
||||
I do think our veterans deserve the very best, but maybe you should look to Nancy Pelosi who labled retired veterans that spoke out about benefits being taken away as "right wing extremists" and said they were a part of the "real terrorist threat" to our country. |

1 EXACTLY! All you want to do is what the PARTY tells you.. You refuse to discuss facts.. You refuse to try and refute anything the article claimed. Mainly because you can't.. So you make attacks on Republicans... How many times does one have to tell you they don't care about Republicans or Democrats?Don't bother answering that, it was rhetorical question. All you and the Anal Hawk have done is call people racist, when you and she are the only ones bringing it up.. So clearly you are not interested in discussing anything. It is not a Republican article.. It is from the National Review, a CONSERVATIVE publication. Now if you can show me anything in the article that is false or even mis-leading, we can talk.. If not, stop your proselytizing, Because you are entirely too transparent. |

1 For you it's only about race.. Most of us don't care.. And for you to try and call me a racist makes you a bald face liar. You have brought nothing to the debate.. Except for whining like a little girl. |
