Best Wishes, The Old Coach
Since you're coming to L.A. let me give you one more "must visit" restaurant, old "french style" restaurant in Downtown area in China Town and a block away from where Los Angeles was orginally founded "Olvera Street" you will love this place
http://www.philippes.com/ check it out!

Single or double dip Roastbeef Sandwiches are to die for, they also have Lam, Turkey, etc. and you must have a "pickle"

Best wishes.

Are any of you the club type? Nothing big and fancy, but more like the social club like you would see on cheers or something. I'm in the process of opening a small bar/club to give people a place to socialize in a grown up environment. A nice place to chill instead of going directly to a resturant like most people I know in Tyler. So tell me....what would you like to see in my bar?...what type of attractions will bring you out? What is Tyler missing that you want in a social bar?

Gladewater is the Antique Capital of East Texas, and only 15 minutes from Tyler! A MUST SEE in Gladewater is Decorate Ornate - a place filled from ceiling to floor with Castle Doors from Italy, Germnay and France, plus hundreds of items that are unbelievable.. web-site: www.DecorateOrnate.com

Wow, while this was entertaining I must say Tyler is bodunk as fuck. The only thing here is white supremacist and black people. I've only been here a week and a half, but I'm going to jump to conclusion and say this place sucks. WHERE CAN I FIND SOME WEED HERE!!

Casual sex and illicit drug use seem to be favored by many Tylerites.

Seeing just how lame of a case a D.A. can turn into a conviction provides much entertainment here.

This is still a good place to spot vairous species of mullets.

Six months of hearing about the Rose Festival followed by the actual four days of the Rose Festival, where you can see some really expensive dresses and watch some rich people's kids prance around and glorify themselves.

You can always start a competition with your friends to see who can gain the most weight eating at the 300 Mexican restaurants we have here.

Demolition derby on I-20. No, I don't mean a demolition derby track on I-20. I mean demolition derby ON I-20 itself. Never seen so many accidents on a dry, straight, wide stretch of road.

My personal favorite: Taking a scenic, 20 mile drive one way to buy beer.

Yeah, um, well...it's tempting, given the behavior of certain local politicians.

Let's just say that the social climate and politics of this area are more like what you would have expected in the 1950's or even the '40's.

Never seen anything like it before, in my lifetime.

I'm from L.A. but I do have family in Tyler and I have visited Tyler 3 times, the last time I was there was back in Christmas 2005, and I must say Tyler is one beautiful town. What I like about it, is that you have a downtown with local T.V. stations, and mini sky-scrapers and if you wish to, you could be out in the country within a 10 minute drive. There are malls (at least one) two Walmarts (right?) and I think I counted 7 McDonalds. My only knock on Tyler or Texas for that matter...is the Burgers are terrible "What-a-burger" is complete joke!- nevertheless, if I had to choose one place to live outside of California it would be Tyler, Texas. Yes sir.
The burgers in tyler are actually quite excellent. We take pride in our whataburger practically being one of the best, we also have two smashburgers as well. We have fuzzys tacos and rustys tacos. We have an a couple of frozen yogurt places to satisfy a cold appetite

Tyler is the fifth ring of hell. If you are ultra churchy and lean to the right all the way then you will love Tyler. From the beer swilling rednecks to the close minded baptists that run this town you are sure to find plenty of hatred. I would rather waltz naked through the fires of hell than spend one more minute here.
