Deal with it! They need to know how there equipment will preform. HE SHOULD JOIN THE EXERCISE IF HE IS REALLY CONCERNED. Nobody would or could have done the drill safer. Nobody.

Hold on to your protest posters, the Navy will be testing a new Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) in the Great Lakes within a year. They will probably be firing 50 cal machine guns, 5" guns, Missiles, and possibly torpedos.
Now that will be a real concern for surface and above surface operators.
