I think we lost the point here. It is not about how much or how little someone is paid. This is about when you make a certain amout you live within those means. When you take a pay cut then you are no longer able to live within those means. One cannot pay their bills when receiving a forced pay cut that amounts to approximately $480 a month. Stop the bickering of well he gets this and I don't, kids play this game. All these employees are asking is to be able to pay their bills. I do not want to argue nor do I want to join in on the fun that I have been reading here. I only want to bring a different perspective.

You know, to have a job at Rotek has been nice. It's a great paying job. The company pays you what they want to pay you, wanna know why? Cause they own the company!!! Because they have that right!!! So if you don't like your job if your scared I death about (what might happen) then find another place that pays better!!! Good luck especially with some I the qualifications many places are requiring now. Just having experience won't cut it anymore!! In this day and age people require higher education! Many people at Rotek have learned by being on the job! This is great but leave Rotek and see if any other companies Accept a (Rotek degree) on an application! Guys just work!!! Wait it out!!! We will be ok!

I am a union member and although it isn't the steel workers union, I wanted to offer my support. Union or not we all work hard....union or not we all have bills to pay....union or not we "workers" need to stand up for what we believe in. The bottom line can't expect someone with financial commitments to bend over and accept a huge pay cut. When you take out loans to buy a house, maybe decide you and your wife want to have a kid, get a new car because the old one is falling make commitments based on your salary. If a company is profitable, what reason could they possibly have for making its employees vulnerable and not able to meet their commitments? Union or not....we MUST stand for something or we will fall for anything!

Unions have outlived their usefulness. In the early 1900's, they played an important role for workers rights. Now there are more than enough laws on the books to protect workers. Today unions are nothing but a huge political machine that is driven by greed, donating money to polititians to get laws and regulations favorable to unions and extorting excessive salaries and benefits from employers. Those employers then cannot compete in a world market where labor costs and taxes are much lower in other countries. These union workers need to understand there are hundreds of thousands of workers around the world ready and able to take their jobs. Go back to work and be glad you've got a job. Otherwise the rest of us will be supporting you because you'll be collecting unemployment while some worker in China, India, Brazil or somewhere else will gladly be doing your job.

part 1 of 4 rotek florence mc donalds probably has better health insurance then you do, now. I hope you don't get sick, you can't afored to. most of you have not used your new insurance yet. better wake up, you have already been raped on your health insurance. for 84.00 a month you get higher deductibles & copays. In 2012 if your meds cost 50.00, now the same meds will cost you 200.00 to 250.00. plus now it will cost you, 1000.00 or more a year to insure your wife. tell me this is not a pay cut.

part 2 of 4 we have lost production & xmas bonus. are this not pay cuts. with no wage increase, in nov. 2012 Is this not a pay cut. the cost of living went up, everything cost more. they have never pay more then 2%, no matter how high the cost of living is for any year. "now" you want to wait until they cut your pay, to orgenize. get real, this is what they are hoping for. too late then.
