Same as always. Take heathens and bring them up to be fundamentalist christians. A lot of sects aren't even secretive about it. Take a grieving kid away from extended family and country for selfish reasons.

It's pretty disgusting. The normal proselytizing is obnoxious enough, but this seizing of children in a time of crisis is nauseating. It is EXACTLY like the African warlords who kidnap children for their armies, and just as immoral. Hope the Haitians execute them.

These were orphan children being brought across the border to the Dominican Republic for medical care. The required paperwork was incomplete, but can you imagine how difficult it would be to comply with government rules when there's virtually no government existent, post-earthquake? Don't be so paranoid or conspiratorial.

Hmmm, the most current information is that the children were NOT orphans, and that they were in good shape. They have been taken to a French childrens camp (SOS) on the outskirts of Port-au-Prince where they can be responsibly looked after.

The damn bleeding hearts and all the rest should pull out of Haiti and let them fend for themselves.
The Church groups had no business down there any way. Wasn't Obama giving them enough? He could ignore the people of Kentucky when they needed help last year with the freezing temperatures and floods, and no power or heat but could rush billions to Haiti's aid. That is a socialist leader for you.

What is it within human nature that has to ALWAYS attribute sinister motives to peoples actions?. Yes, on the surface. It is obvious they were MISLED and SERIOUSLY misguided. By whom? Who planted the initial seed to mislead them that they could just prance on in to a country that is experiencing a national catostrophe of the most HORRIFIC magnitude and adopt chidren and not encounter any problems? To adopt children even in the most stable of times can be painstakingly difficult. I am led to believe that ,yes, someone along the chain had financial motives. However, to imply ill motive and MALIGN the reputation of a group of people is NOTHING SHORT OF CRUEL. This part of the world is a very tough place. If this collective religious group are guilty of anything at first glance. It is of being SERIOUSLY NAIVE. Regardless, the current unfortunate predictament that they are experiencing should NOT be attributed to malicious intentions. TPMP

It's always astounding that fundies will justify breaking the law, because they claim the end is what matters.

Btw, they were told before they left the USA that they needed the documents they didn't have.

How do you know what they were told? If you are in possession of such sensitive information. Perhaps, you should fly down to Haiti and assist their hobbled govermnent in thir prosecution?

It is what it says it is - I wondered what their motives were. Are they:
1) Harvesting these kids for pedophiles at their church (Not so far-fetched, given the Catholic Church's numerous pedophile priests over the last 50 years.)
2) Stealing them to raise them as Baptists and thus swell their ranks (Also not far-fetched - African warlords do this to fill their armies)
3) A genuine want to help the kids (not far-fetched, but why are they doing it in such a half-assed manner?)
4) Martydom - steal the kids, get caught, and then whine about how they're being persecuted for being Baptists.(Not far-fetched at all - EVERY religion loves a good martyr story)
5) Cannibalism - Farfetched

Human trafficking is one of the biggest organized crime rings second to drugs. No one should discount the possibility that anyone in the U.S. could be in on that, missionary, christian, or otherwise. That type of work would be a perfect cover or what happens to an estimated 20,000 people who are trafficked into the U.S. per year. If that is the case, what a disgusting exploitation of already suffering people. Telling parents "Your kids will go to better homes," convincing them they can't care for them any longer under the circumstances, and then they are abused by some sicko who couldn't get a legal adoption to have their way with children. I don't care how much bureaucracy there is in Haiti, they don't need Americans meddling that much in their families even if the intentions were supposedly to help them, which I highly doubt. Go through the proper social services channels, if that is the case, but don't turn children with families who still want them into orphans!

Kentucky people can survive anything I guess, Thanks for thinking of us.

Wasn't it the Baptists who helped storm the FLDS compound in Texas and snatched babies from their mother's breasts? I don't agree with people running compounds like that but hey, it was children being dragged off in Baptist busses, that had to be scary, lol.

I think most of the (white) atheists on here are just bitchin because they don't want more "darkies" in this country, so they put on a front that its "because the christians took those kids away from their families" =(. Please.

Don't get me wrong, I'm no believer myself, but honestly we Americans can deal with OUR own. We will judge them in OUR courts.

BTW, THE PARENTS GAVE UP THEIR CHILDREN TO THESE PEOPLE IN THE FIRST PLACE. Give us our people (white, black, hispanic, as long as their American) back.

To all you supposed "athiests" who have a problem with my "American people" (which can be any race of people) Embrace tribalism, it is in your NATURE (Hell, it is NATURE)

And I mean Americans as the people who inhabit this nation, not the government that runs it.

As for children, I have mixed feelings about the subject. what they did was wrong, but the Haitian government is trying to "make an example of them", which is wrong.

In MOST of their minds, they were doing the right thing. Punished, yes. Imprison all of them for 5-10 years, FUCK NO!
