It is not right that the Indians have a right to have gambling machines and no one else can.. Guess this is America. If we could make them legal for everyone and have the funds go to education instead of someone pocket we would be better off.

illegal video gambling machines are in nearly every bar and convenience store in okla.they generate more money than any casino licensed by state of okla.but the only money the state receives is for the machine permit no.which is for amusement only.if caught paying off on one of these machines the owner and employee at the time of being caught can be fined a large amount of money and get jail time.every law official in the state know they are there but do nothing rarely because the big bucks paid by the machine owners to look the other way.lawyers and judges are part owners in some of these companies that supply them. only if enough complaints are filed or the owner of the bar or store piss off an official will any thing be done.v.f.w.,american legion, eagle, elk lodges are the biggest users and abusers of these machines.anybody is allowed in to play the machines, but cannot be involved in daily business affairs if not a member.many of these lodges give free drinks to players to keep them playing.the lives of many people have been ruined, especially older citizens on limited income. our legal officials are corrupt and uncaring when this is brought up,so stay away and warn your friends to be also.

Just to clarifiy some thing. For one there is no proof nor can u show that any government officals get any money from these machines. If the get money from the machines, its from the Indian Casinos to pay them off to make the smaller companmies not be able to put thier machines in "stores, Gas stations, Truck stops, ect...." Get your facts rigth before you come on a blog and post about something you only know 10% of whats going on. Another comment you made is its ruining our econemy? Your a tard. If you havent heard OKC is losing small buisness's due to the fact that they no longer have enough income to stay open due to these stupid laws that have been passes. Its ok I guess we can let the Indians pockets get fatter, cause this is the last state they can do it in. But then again i guess Oklahoma is so damn far behind on laws it will be the end of the world before they catch up......

Legal or Illegal? I played the games seized at the Roadway store and never received anything in return. I played the game for fun to see just how points I could get to see how my luck was at playing the game. I have played viedo games in game rooms and never received anything in return. Ido not understand the difference , Could I have been given a ticket are arrested for playing the games in the game rooms, pizza houses where are family plays are at the Roadway store? Are we as people from a free country getting as bad as to be told that we cannot play are have viedo machines, what are our laws becoming,Good or Bad?

the only reason they are picking on the phone card machines is because the goverment don't know how to get taxes from the stores that have them. it is hurting the convience stores because the money they make could and does put another person on the payroll i wont go to a local casino because the casinos don't pay the indians are to greedy
does it matter

i am so tired of the indians complaining about any one else trying to make money the machines at convience stores are nothing compared to the money made in local ok. casinos i'm going to take my money that i work for in ok. to nevada if we all stayed away from the greedy indian casinos here in ok.maybe they would QUIT bitching about convience stores having a FEW phone card machines the casinos pay off our goverment officials so they can do what the indians tell them to do give the little guy a chance. figure out the taxes and i'm sure the convience stores would pay them they buy a city permit and a state permit to operate so i'm sure they would pay taxes i guess i'll just go to vegas and spend my money it is also easy to shop for other things while i'm there cloths, furniture, appliances, and bring them home to ok. in my truck. its a beatiful drive there and back i'll spend my money in
other states hell i might even move out of ok.i'm sick of the indians BITCHING p/s i am part indian

i have my facts straight on illegal video games. if they pay out and are caught doing so there is a big fine. and possible loss of beer licenses.i have been around illegal gambling and companies that promote it for 60 years.i have had them in bars and clubs i've owned.there were gumball machines that gave you a nickel if you got a speckled gumball for a penny next to my school in a neighborhood store,1948.punch cards in cafes,1950's pinball machines, ripopen stamps, and many others when i was from 6 to 17 years old. i did runs and errands for the music companies that ran and placed these machines in bars, cafes, gas stations, stores laundromats, etc. they are still out there in many types of machines from mechanical to video electronics.they are rigged against the player or they would never be placed out to play.and yes there is plenty of proof out there on officials taking bribes,if it was pushed.your officials are all members of the various org's that have these in their club houses. if say a fire inspector sees them he is supposed to report them.same for off duty or on duty law enforcement.they are paid to not go in the back rooms where the machines are kept.free drinks, meals even money to be quiet.campaign money for the politicos.i know of music companies today that own the buildings where bars are.in many instances they give free rent to someone so they can have their machines in the bar and split 50/50 with the bar licensee every week.very lucrative business. i have made as much as 1200.00 a week at times.not all the time, just occasionally.i know bars that give free beer and mixed drinks to keep you spending.iam just spelling it out for you folks to make your own decisions.i play them all the time.casinos too.but i play with the idea if i take in a hundred, and hit for a hundred twenty icash out and put the twnty in a separate pocket, never to be touched while i am playing that day or night.put in another twenty.if i lose it iput in another.but iwill not go over the original 100.00 or whatever i brought in.i may not make much some nights this way but i always make a little every week. good luck and don't play more than you can afford and you'll usually come out close and have spent a couple of hours of fun.

Please ask the proactive not reactive Sheriff of Canadian County to stop it all. He knows all about it. He should love the front page attention, except there would be no highway signs to hold.

Gambler, you have hit the nail on the head. There is a HUGE disparity in the enforcement of gaming laws in OK. I understand the shortage of manpower at the state level, BUT the statutes require every law enforcement individual to take action on known illegal gambling. The most flagarant violations are also the most visible, i.e., slot machines in the VFWs, American Legions, Elks, etc. When you live in a small community (and there are hundreds throughout the state) EVERYONE knows where the illegal activities are happening including our police, sherrif, public officials, etc. Little to nothing is done. Why? Perhaps these officials enjoy the many contributions they receive from the various organizations. Those officials who choose to look the other direction are also in violation of state law. They took an oath! Have some integrity and do the right thing!
