He is not the first black president - he is the first 1/2 white president we have elected.

Unless of course the measure of a man is the color of his skin and not his character ......

The color of his skin is what got him into the White House.

popular votes do not show a huge victory and yes, the color of his skin got him to this place in time. The color of his skin has been his accomplishing factor most his life.

I would have rather seen a more experienced and less ruthless, less corrupt Chicago politician (if there is such a person) with black skin color than Obama in the White House.

I voted for Mccain but i would imagine if i were a black person i would be excited too and i saw his news conference today and he is a very likable fellow. I hope he can do it, as for me the competition is over and he is going to be the next president and i am interested in the U.S.A because i have a lot invested in it and want it to work. I dont care whether eourope likes us or any other country likes us. Bring the troops back from europe, korea and japan the philipines and eventually iraq and afganistan and let all those countries fend for themselves. just think of the jobs that will be created by reopening some of the closed military bases here and to hell with the u.n., We dont need them either. there I said it and i'm glad. now get to work obama.

Dear Tribune,
The 2008 election is now over. It is time to stop campaigning for President-Elect Obama. Report the news, without bias and let people make up their own minds about him and his future policies.

Obama is an open racist! read his first biography and tell me he is not racist. "that light ghost that haunts the black man's dreams" seems to me like a racist statement.
