"Between 1942 and 1945, a stretch of Richardson Bay mudflats at the north end of Sausalito became the Marinship shipyard, an assembly line for tankers, oilers and liberty ships.
An operation that built more than 200 ships required a 20,000-member workforce, comprised of 25 percent women and 10 percent blacks...."
65 years later, and four generations later, the human barnacles are still dug into the public purse.
It's time to begin a conversation about repurposing Marin City.
