I-77 wreck kills one in Iredell

One Charlottean died and three others were injured when a vehicle ran off Interstate 77 in Iredell County about 4:45 p.m. Sunday, according to the N.C . Highway Patrol. Herman Bristol, 75, a passenger in the front seat, was killed, officials said. The vehicle was traveling south on I-77, south of Exit 42 near Troutman , when driver Francisco Peralta, 70, ran off the left side the road, overcompensated, then veered off the right side of the road, hitting a tree, officials said. From the state's perspective....just another statistic….another accident on I-77. Don't worry about the repercussions on the added traffic and developments on exit 42 and 45 in the coming 3 years, the two lane unlit Interstate will claim several more innocent lives before improvements are done in starting in 2018.

I drive 77 everyday. It's just a nightmare!!! It needs to be widened very badly!! Yeah some lighting would be nice too.

My niece Angela Flores-Hager 30 years old was killed in an automobile accident January 31st. She was on her way home at about 8pm. Again this was on I-77 around exists 33 and 36. There were 2 trucks involved in this accident. One of the truck drivers leaves in Troutman, which I belive is about exit 42. The State trooper's report indicates the car went out of control and she hit a guardrail which in turn car flipped and hit by the trailer-truck. She lived in Cornelius.
