As a Dad What do you wish for your daughter?

There are men in this town who are well known for cheating. Their fathers cheated, their grandfathers cheated. You know what I mean. I would never want my daughter to marry a man of that caliber. I would like her to marry a man that reflected the value of the Promise Keepers. Those men stand for what being a man is all about. There is nothing like a good and honest man. That is what I want for my daughter. Nothing less. And that is what she expects from me.

What I wish for my daughters is what I wish for my son, as well as anyone else who cares to listen:

1. No matter what you do with your life, do your absolute best. That is the true measure of success.
2. Always appreciate who you are and what you have in life and never take anyone or anything for granted. It can all be taken away in the blink of an eye.
3. Be kind to everyone and always smile; it will create opportunities (in addition to keeping them guessing!).
4. Luck is when opportunity meets preparation, so always be prepared.
5. Always take care of your mind, body and spirit, for they are all you have.
6. Be true to yourself. Never let anyone change you into something you are not.
7. Surround yourself with people who accept you for who you are and do not want you to be someone else.
8. Be the example for other people that you want for yourself.
9. Remember your manners. Say "please", "thank you", and "excuse me". Treat other people the way you want to be treated - with respect.
10. Experience life and all it has to offer. Never be afraid to try something new. This is how you stay young!

I would not want a child of mine to marry someone with a family history of cheating on their spouses. That would be a poor choice for my daughter or my son. They say cheating is not inherited, but time and time again it proves to be true. Family history does repeat itself.

What's this thread about? My daughters both look like models, and do calculus for fun.
They have few friends because neither drinks smokes or swears. The go square dancing and have fun. They read a lot, and never ask for a thing.

All you can do is be a good Dad. My girls know what to look for in an honest man. Setting an example for your little girls is a good start. If a Dad cheats, his daughters will be attracted to cheaters. If a Dad does not cheat, his daughters look for an honest man. Simple, isn't it?

Agree. You cheat, then your kids are attracted to cheaters. If you are a good Dad with a real sense of honor, your kids will look for a spouse with a good set of values. You shall reap what your harvest. There does not appear to be any way around it.

So is this thread about cheating or about what you want for your children. There are MANY more things about life than just cheating. Cheating is a symptom of a more basic set of challenges - lack of self-respect, lack of goals, lack of commitment and integrity, etc. I want my children to have these basic qualities; then they are prepared to deal with life's challenges no matter what they are. So I try to be the example I would like them to follow.

I want my daughters to be able to go to school without being preyed upon by sexaully disfunctional people and I don't mean other students. For a few, it is open season for taking advantage of a young easily misled mind and filling it full of lies and empty promises just to acheive sexual gradification. It seems like they get rid of one of these perverts and another is waiting in the wings. In stead of getting rid of good coaches, let's get rid of the deviates.
