This is sweet. Mr. Smith finds it convenient to spend $6,000,000 on a court house renovation that was neither necessary or affordable, now he wants to bleed the county employees out to pay for his "illusions of grandeur". He was well aware of the state's financial position, yet took the initiative to push a multi- million dollar project that could have definitely been delayed for a few years.
The worst part of this fiasco is that no one in his district has the courage to run against him. Now the county will be heavily affected for more years to come as a result of him retaining his position.

How do you know the renovations were not necessary or affordable?
Please, try to use fact for a change.
The energy savings in the court house will save much money and reduce it's carbon foot print.(google it MM)

I agree Miss. Needed or not, it was the wrong time to renovate the courthouse.

How would you know if it was needed or not, or if it was done well. You trust important decisions to Earl Lavoie, Tim Smith, Rocket Ray?- bunch of dithering idiots. And I didn't gain a lot of respect for the guy from Saranac after his defense of the Comlink conspiracy. And we have Tim Lashomb running for County. Now THERE is an effective leader - NOT!

HEY! Electing idiots just because they are related or "nice guys" means over $100,000,000/year of our money is controlled by buffoons.(And Feeley is the ultimate buffoon enabler) It's past due time to sharply question candidates, and stop making it a popularity contest.

Idiots control the County, are Town Supervisor and Mayor, and control the School Board (4th percentile in the State and they renew top management contracts).

You don't have to concern your self with this matter as it pertains to people who have worked all of their life, not people who dabble in drugs and live off their father you communist turd.

Also it is nice the way after all of your posts you reward your self with a nice little "brilliant" icon or a nice green check mark. Now you are probably going to claim that you don't do that even though everyone things your a communist turd, and no one ever agrees with you.
In fact, you remind of a female wacko from Constable who used to write insane letters to the editor of "The Malone Evening Telegram"- wonder if it was a relation to you?

The qualifications for these positions are this YOU HAVE TO BE A RESIDENT OF FRANKLIN COUNTY. There is no drug test administered. There is no assessment of any candidate's mental aptitude and emotional health, yet they are entrusted with deciding what happens with a $100,000,000 a year. There has to be some requirements for these very important positions, otherwise our county will continue to degrade. Basically Smith runs the whole shabang anyway. If any of the other legislator's disagree with him, he leans on them until they come around to his way of thinking. And if anyone thinks he is a genius, they are in for a big surprise. Hopefully we can get Bess Hanna in there because she will not back off him like these other followers do. Also you wont have to worry about her double billing for her gas mileage (ooops, did I say that)

The qualifications may be residency, but that doesn't guarantee the job. You have to be elected, and they have been. By us. so if our leades are inept, it's our fault, we chose them. Perhaps you also should run (yes, I'm assuming you're not), then you'd have a leader you could admire and rely on, although perhaps others would think you are as inept as you think our current board is. That's one of the costs of the job.

Nice job taxpayer, how come you didn't give your self a "star" like you usually do you communist turd.

Sorry John, like I say elsewhere, I'm disappointed that an obviously intelligent person like you fails to notice that taxpayer's IP is Constable, while mine is not. Your failure to notice something obvious like that kind of undermines all your opinions. It is pretty noticeable, however, that there's a lot of bile posted by people who have New Hartford as an IP. And, actually, there are some very stark similarities to both the positions taken and grammar used. I'll leave it to others to interpret those observations.

I also think your failure to notice the IP issue is a good reason not to vote for you, although it kind of makes you look as able as the current board members.

Hmm was it really a requirement to add such expensive curbing to the parking lot rather than just using concrete, was it really needed to add the enormous addition to add conference rooms that were already there and hardly ever used at ALL. In all the years that I worked there I saw those rooms used about three times and there was never anymore than five people in them. That project was a huge waste of money. Jim Feely should be ashamed of this. Very embarassing waste of taxpayer money. Gee taxpayer I cant believe that YOU are alright with this.

yes they screwed up and now they want to make the dept. heads pay the price for their poor judgments. We better get to the polls in November.

This is what happens when you have an uneducated alcoholic in charge of millions of dollars. Now look at the place. They have to rope off the massive concrete steps because they are crumbling into dust(there was nothing wrong with the original steps) the heating and air conditioning systems have had massive problems including the taxpayers having to pay $50,000 for repairs on the new heating system that they didn't even get a warranty on.
But what difference does it make if you get new legislators? The last 3 newbs that we got voted in don't say a word or else they have the moron and the drunk jump all over them. What a great legislative group!

Actually I have, but am not ready yet. This year, luckily we have some excellent candidates running for the drunk's spot and hopefully at some point somebody with morals will decide to run against moron also.
