What a joke as the people that suffer from it are not making money like the Main street greedy's. It is the same old BS the city council does a temporary passing of a law they know is permanent but used to squelch the decent. Tupelo is not a democracy it is a dictatorship run by the rich.

The downtown main street association is nothing but the marketing department for REEDS and the egos are in the way of the truth. The to go cups have no bearing on the dead downtown Tupelo and most merchants are arm twisted to go along with whatever the REEDS tell the director to do every day. To go cups and to cup police have no value for downtown. Take the alcohol out of downtown and what do you have left? A tacky circus for all the LGBTQ community to share their cups.

It's a practice known in China as "yin-yang contracts," a form of tax evasion where the first, smaller contract is reported to authorities while the second, larger one is treated as tax-free income.
Council Hears

The council hears those who oppose the free alcohol down on main when the next election comes around. Athens daily journal nor the downtown main street association can be trusted. Zone thing is for sure the mayor nor council will be defending the alcoholics in the downtown association. How many Reed members or employees are on the main street board? DEDICATED TO god and Mankind?

The daily journal paperboys suck up to the director boss hog down on main and Nettie is an insider VIP and votes yes for every issue of her visitors bureau and down on main associstion. Nettie has no. idea how she is used by the downtowners. Yes you Nettie.

The downtown main street association has divided the main street. Why such a big deal about walking out of a bar with a drink in a taxpayer purchased cup? Jason Shelton is history and the downtown main streeters will be retiring after wasting nearly 30 years on a dead downtown main street that has to sell alcohol to get a few drunks down on main. The paperboys are all liars about their downtowners.

The downtown association director shows her colors with the Reed menís department where she reports to her boss downtown Tupelo. There are several stores and restaurants that refused to complain at the council meeting about their problems with the drunks downtown on main. The alcoholics are protected by the mayor assigning the to go cup policemen to protect the LBGTQ and drunks going down on main.
Negative Remarks

The mayor and his Nettie are hearing nothing but complaints about their Free riders on the empty buses. The adult Tupelo voters will fire Shelton and Nettie will retire as both are shamed because of their misuse of public funds for their own whims and mistakes. Athens to go cup complaints are ignored by the fat arse paperboys and so the lies continue about the drunks down on main.

You know you have bad data when you have no contrary data.

Is there really a significant number of Tupelo tax payers who care one way or the other about allowing adults to drink on the sidewalks downtown? The only place I find any objection is on internet forums and it sounds like the same person making all the objections. If I wanted to drink a cold beer outside on a hot day I'd be at Bay Springs on a boat and not on downtown sidewalks, but to each his own.

If it was such a good idea what took so long? They had to clean up Times Square because the drunks and drug addicts kept sober people away. The public place is not the place to get and be high. Not to mention how are they going to drive home. This is all about greed and making money from ignorant people.
Dead Downtown

Tupelo, MS

The downtown main street association can not justify all the waste of tax funds without stacking the deck about the drunks going down on main. Who is the alcoholic downtown that supports nothing but more alcohol sales by th3 mayor and more drunks driving home with their to go cups. Tge cost and hype about to go cups is typical BS coming out of the mouth of boss hog. Downtown Tupelo is dead as Elvis. How many awards and $25,000 checks did the main streeters win this year. How many applications and trips to Kansas city and elsewhere did the city pay for the mayor and his main street girls. The costs will always be hidden by the lies told in the council meetings.
Set Up

The down main street boss hog set up the positive remarks to impress someone down on main and of course the goofy paperboys publish the bull $hit daily. The main street association and the daily paper are as crooked as they come. It is all mad3 up crap for the director to get a little attention. Why is the directorís photo in the menís department at Reeds? The director has an office at Reeds and sells beer on the side. The downtown association is overwrought with over pay executives.
More Cops

Tupelo, MS

#15 Monday Sep 17
The downtown bar and restaurant owners request more cops for the to go cups for downtown Tupelo. The cost is main street and its association has become a major tax burden for only a few of the LGBTQ community who need protection from each other down on main. The mayor has already assigned two policemen to protect the drunks and now the long haired pizza man wants his money protected by the city cops. The boss hog is a liar downtown Tupelo.
Security Issues

The council heard the fears about the lack of security downtown on main with all the drunks with to go cups. What is positive about getting drunks downtown main street in Tupelo? Yes the downtowners misrepresent the fact that downtown Tupelo is truly not a safe place to eat. The traffic indicates the mall area and north Gloster is the place where everyone eats and spends their money in Tupelo. The good pizzas are not downtown.

Now they want to spend the taxpayer money on cameras because of the crime. They should quit having to let drunks on the street. It is nothing but greedy hypocrisy to spend more money on a dying downtown when we need to put a turn lane on Endville Rd to protect our children and have better flowing traffic.
Ignorance

What links these examples is the phenomenon of continuing to throw good resources (time or money) after bad, hoping for things to improve when thereís no good reason to believe they will.
In other words, people are loath to cut their losses. We are much more likely to continue to senselessly plough time or money into a project that isnít working out, in the hope that it will get better, than take a hit and walk away. What drives this is optimism (that, against the odds, the situation will improve) and an aversion to failure.

They want taxpayer money to buy cameras to keep an eye out on their business we fund, their buses we buy. and their cups they want us to drink from. The whose who of Tupelo have spent millions of our taxpayer money to direct the herd downtown, and have used the Djournal to try and convince the locals that the new sidewalks will take them to downtown utopia.
Anyone ever seen an Olympic pool, police station so large itís comical, or buses in a town with this little population? Nope, and thereís a reason. Itís all unsustainable for the number of residents and the dwindling wealth and population.

The daily urinal published only their propaganda about the to go cups and did not publish any information about the fears the bar and restaurants owners have working downtown Tupelo with the drunks waking around with concealed weapons and full cups to go. The downtown main street and the daily paperboys are in bed together and someone is lying?

Where are the cameras on your boat? The Bay Springs dock does not allow drunks with to go cups. You are a liar about boating at Bay Springs so please go some where else to impress someone with your lies. You are a downtowner and paid to post on this site? Do you sit on your arse down on Green street Mr sports editor?
