Tupelo schools can't afford chalk or markers or toilet paper or paper towels and demand that parents contribute to pay for such items but the school board had no problem scratching up $20,000 to pat themselves on the back.

Are parents too busy to pay attention to the situation?

60% of the children are born to a unmarried parent. They get everything free from Obama cash as they do not have the time to care or raise a child. The schools abstained from teaching how to prevent pregnancy.

The big problem is ignorance brought on by lack of a real education rather than the standardized training for jobs.

Most parents don't pay attention and they don't pay for extras for the teachers. You are an exception to that rule Rod. This is part of the reason I ran for the hills when my kids got to school age. Good Luck.

untrue we buy tissue, pencils, rulers, calculators, colored pens, construction paper, erasers, drinks, chips, binders, ect ect then we are asked to sell something every month-2, plus buy shirts, pictures multiple times, along with volunteer time to watch teachers during testing, ect. What exactly happens to tax money? We didn't buy sports dress and all this stuff when I was in school, and taxes were less, plus more than 50% went and graduated. Where's the money?

Yes Broke Parent. I agree you probably do. But NOT ALL PARENTS IN TUPELO SYSTEM BUYS THE REQUIRED SUPPLIES FOR THE SCHOOL YEAR. My child started kindergarten at Rankin. When we took in his supplies that he carefully selected with his name written on them the teacher stood there with a sharpie and rubbed off his name and put it in a cabinet. When I asked her why she said that "half her parents each year did not buy the required supplies" so she would take the ones that did buy their kids supplies and "evenly distribute" the supplies among ALL the kids in the class. So what you are buying for your kid is probably being used by another kid who has LAZY parent who did not bother.
Where your tax money is going??? Good question for all of these "elected" officials.

The schools indoctrinate the children to be comrades all the same widgets. The use Skinner/Pavlov behavior conditioning to produce worker consumers.

The U.S. will not have a creative idea out of this generation designed to obey orders and have the state take care of them.

Why is Obama too blame for this. There have been children in school forever that their parents could not pay for anything and the rest of us have to pick up the slack.

Obama is not the blame he is part of the problem. Executive orders have made enforcement of crime selective and poor behavior gets rewarded with food and handouts if you get in line and follow the commands.

People can not be responsible if you give them handouts as the just get obese.

Without food it is difficult to have children.

Hmm, looks like you are correct. Next year is prepaid for then, considering the amount of stationary ect. over the years. This communist mentality isn't going to run very smooth once the givers start taking. In fact homeschooling may be the answer.

There is a "Big Brother" out there waiting for you behind the Socialist, Communist and Capitalist label. Do you really think that your choice has all the right answers? Do you REALLY?

We find out things by experiments and many times experiments fail. It is the process to find answers. You sure are not going to find them when the choices are limited.

The concept of right is subjective.
