Why do doctor's office charge you a fee to fill out paper work for your employers?

Obama Care. Try a medical savings account and pay the doctor directly without a middle man. Cash only doctors are cheaper than insurance doctors.
used to fill that crapout

I worked for a clinic and spent alot of time doing this. The reason is because it takes alot of time and resources to make sure that your paperwork is filled out correctly the first time to insure that your employer is satisfied. Alot of those FMLA or Disability paperwork is very intense and if you make one tiny mistake the patient could loose their job. Its important paperwork that requires attention from not only the physician but the staff that helps him fill it out. Not all clinics charge. It is usually the office managers choice.

aaandd now for Anon's two cents...

Government health care is not in the interest of anyone. Exactly what was cured with forms? The whole paper jungle is government waste paid for by insurance and tax money.
Health care costs could be reduced 50% if there was no paperwork involved. But then you would not have a job.
