Several months ago Joe Krein of elvis2001.net was approached to help promote Elvis Presley’s tour bus. Actually it
was to help in advertising a plea to raise money in order to restore and preserve ‘Elvis Presley’
TCB Tour Bus’. The plea was for donations of $5.00 $10.00 and etc.,(US Dollars) from
individuals or a fan club can donate what ever they wanted.
The owner, Bill Kinard sent a photo, and right away it was clear that this was NOT Elvis Presley’
s tour bus. This was the bus for J.D. Sumner and the Stamps. Yes, Elvis purchased paid for
the bus, however it was NEVER used by Elvis Presley for his tours.
Kinard insisted that it was Elvis’ tour bus, used by Elvis and when Elvis heard J.D. needed a
tour bus, he gave him his own personal bus?
NO! Elvis never did use this bus as his tour bus! To our knowledge, Elvis did drive the bus on
two occasions. The first time was when he first bought it. Elvis asked J.D. if he could drive it. J.
D. got a little nervous and Elvis said; “If I break it I’ll buy you another one.” After the history of the
bus was proved to Mr Kinard he then changed the story.
So imagine our surprise when we awoke yesterday to see news on many Elvis sites with the
headlines “Elvis bus is coming to tupelo”. And what do you know, it’s the SAME bus being
promoted by the SAME person……Mr Bill Kinard.
Not once in the promotion does he mention J.D. Sumner, let alone that it was the Stamps bus
and NOT Elvis’. Mr. Kinard knows full well its not Elvis’ bus and so we can only assume that
does not care about this important fact?
On Mr. Kinards website he states; “Legacy Hall of Fame Inc. plans to bring Elvis Presley's TCB
Tour Bus and a 1957 Pink Cadillac that Elvis purchased to East, Tupelo, Mississippi, restore it,
and put it on display for fans to come and see from around the world. In order to do this we
must raise funds to pay for the cost to save the TCB Tour Bus, restore it, and construct a fans
museum to protect the bus and display the above. Legacy Hall of Fame Inc. is asking for
donations of $5.00,$10.00 and etc.,(US Dollars) from individuals, a fan club can donate what
ever they like.”
Once again we inform Mr. Kinard that this bus with the TCB logo on the side is NOT Elvis
Presley’s tour bus! It was NEVER used by Elvis Presley on any of his tours! It was bought for J.
D. Sumner and The Stamps Quartet by Elvis who did “test drive” the bus when it first arrived.

The Kinard couple try all sorts of zany ideas to make a buck from the Elvis name.
Much like EPE!

Hi there: I see this old news is still out there, however if people contact Mr. Joe Krien, I think he will "correct the record".
We thank Shirley Sumner and Joe Krien for bringing to our attention that the bus we inherrited from a museum in Oregon was the one Elvis gave J.D. Sumner a blank check and told to purchase. Thank You, Thank You Very Much!
We would like to let those who are interested that we found TCB on the side of the bus and that is what it's being called, the TCB Tour Bus for now.
Second there were "documents" on the bus by "Glen Tadlock", the bus driver for both Elvis Presley and J.D. Sumner that Elvis in fact did use this bus in 2 tours just before Elvis passed away. There are back stage passes still mounted on the bus.
This is also documented in a book, written about "Ghost Stories", which include stories about the bus being haunted for those who are in search of the "truth", not gossip.
You see when you inherrit bus, cars, and memorabilia, you don't know what you have until it's in your possesion and you have time to verify what is real and what is not.
By the way the 1957 Pink & Black Cadillac was Elvis' personal Cadillac, and this has been documented with "Graceland's Archives" and in a book written by George Klien, "Elvis Presley Family Album". A picture of the Cadillac is on page 56.

Bill we told you over the phone before the bus was picked up that the bus was NEVER owned by Elvis. It is sorry to see here again that you have changed your story. We told you MANY times way before Joe did.

I hate to be the one to break this to the readers here but word is out all over northeast, Ms that Bill Kinard has burned many bridges with litigation matters against various entities all over the state of Ms and Florida. Just what I heard. Word travels fast in a small town. Be careful readers. Do not believe everything coming from this man's mouth. Talk is cheap. Facts are real.

Obviously,,I misjudged kinard...I thought when I wrote this last year that he was truthful.

Isn't this the same guy who gets people to donate money in elvis' memory to have their name inscribed on a granite wall in tupelo?

Doesn't EPE have anything to say about this?

Just how many people can make money off Elvis for goodness sake.

IN OUR OPINION: Kinard has recently tried to sell off the bus AGAIN as Elvis Presley's Tour Bus in the Europe community. He sold quite a few fake items during this latest auction (May 27th, 2010) and made over $20,000 doing so. As I see it he is selling outside of the US now and lawsuits against him will be harder for the unfortunate people who won to come back at him and request their money back.
Now...he does not have possession of the JD Sumner TOUR bus ( oweing $188,000.00) which is STILL in letigation, but he is trying to sell it anyway...In our eyes and the Elvis fan based people, watch out, be aware and know...there were only a couple of real Elvis related items and that being one toy guitar...which never belonged to elvis and a record framed. This being the case, and he sold off fakes during the FAME auction, there is little fake Elvis items to see anyway now at that location. Kinard indeed makes a living off of law suites and he is especially trying to make money off of the registered EPE trademark of Elvis Presley's name. We are hoping that EPE will be taking a stand as these lies and fake items are going to start resulting in fans loosing interest in anything Elvis related in the future due to mistrust. There are still advertisments, and pleas for people to donate money to this foundation.

Yes it is the same place you can have your name put on a marble wall, so beware.

To my knowledge it is against the law to falsly advertise for a 401 non-profit org in Mississippi to generate income. Until someone in that state comes up with an attorney that wants to proceed with actions against this place, it will probably continue.
Just beware, Kinard is giving out letters of authenticity (LOA) and certificates of authenticity (COA) that he has no knowledge or expericence to do so. He also has asked people to donate or bring their precious memoribila into the museum so they can value and auction them off for either the individual or the museum whichever you want. I have a feeling some of these items may end up missing or stolen, or never sold, or money scammed.

So now the Bus is Missing is the wall still up Guess I'll have to make a trip to see whats going on .. Our members thathad names put on are wondering so now I 'm wondering ..
The wall

United States

#12 Jun 17, 2010
To the best of my knowledge the wall is still up in the vacant not used cemetary.

The fact is...he had that wall moved in and probably he could have it moved out too.

There are not many names on it as of January.

As we see it the Bus is still titled in Buseman's name. Kinard never had the title in his name, due to the lien.
So does he own it...well he had a court give him legal rights to it, but that does not mean that he actually has possession of it, which he does not. Oweing money on anything with a lien is pretty much the person's who put up the money until that debt is paid for. He has legal rights to it...and possession is 9/10ths of the law.

In our opinion:

Agree if anyone wants to send donations, they have got to have their head examined, or they just want to toss money away for this man to spend at the Casino.

He never actually had possession of this bus due to not paying the bill and then he tells everyone that the bus is being repaired or it is in the shop not quite ready to be viewed.

There is always an excuse..in our opinion..excuses are like A-holes everyone has one..
Remember that old saying: If it doesn't sound right it probably isn't. Well take it for what it's worth ZERO when it comes to the information this man tells people.
BEWARE BEWARE before you invest with this person..I wish more people would sue him for fraud because this fits him well, a scam artist (and a bad one at that)!

If Elvis ever set foot on it,(and he probably did) it would be worth it, anyway. They should just emphasize when he was on the bus, and for what.

This is total crap.

Elvis did not use a tour bus in the 70s, especially one from "a couple of tours just before he passed away".

And why would Elvis give JD Sumner a blank cheque to purchase it?

JD was part of the band, not of the MM, the ones who took care of this sort of thing. Joe would've been the likely purchaser had it ever happened.

But it didn't.

As any fan (except Lee, apparently) knows, Elvis used limousines while on tour.

For a few years in the 80s, there was Elvis' bus that he "used in the 60s" on display across the road.

That was later shown to be BS as well, and Graceland removed it.

I don't think that Tupelo needs their kind of help with stories that are untrue. Now the Memorial wall road is closed. He has his fake birthplace home he lives in all mucked up with signs. If I put my name on that stone block I would be asking for my money back.
