On Friday Oct. 25, 2013, WTVA News in Tupelo conducted a poll asking if marijuana should be legal in Mississippi. Although the final percentage weren't given, they said more said YES than no. WLBT in jackson did the same polling and 66% said YES while 34% said no.

Mississippi is the 2nd state that incarnates more than half of marijuana users in their jails and prisons. If marijuana was legal in Mississippi, we wouldn't be so overcrowded in our jails & prisons and would have room for deserved criminals like rapists, child molesters, murderers and others. We would have jobs and more opportunities available in the marijuana industry. We can tax marijuana and use the tax money for our highways, education, and what is deemed necessary. By making marijuana legal, we can keep it out of children's hands because they go to drug dealers that don't ID you and most likely to have alternative drugs such as coke, heroin, meth available instead. Marijuana prohibition causes crime and gangs while alcohol prohibition created crimes and Gangster mobs such as Al Capone, Machine Gun Kelly. The police needs to be focusing their time going after hard drug users or dangerous criminals rather than writing up a ticket for marijuana possession and filling our overcrowded jails and prisons. The people have the right to use in the privacy of their homes and shouldn't be subjected to what the State declares what's deemed wrong. We are already a decriminalized state yet we are still being arrested for partaking the herb. Decriminalization means-- To reduce or abolish criminal penalties for the use of marijuana.

No, decriminalize the use of drugs and do not tax it but also do not provide any government aid to people that kill themselves with drugs that includes any medical help or the right to buy insurance at a price that puts there poor health habits on other people.

We do not need the government to collect more taxes and spend more of the public money.

@jane you seem to be uneducated on the cannabis plant.. This plant is put here for a reason and the reason being is to serve all man kind.. It has more than medical benifits.. This very plant can change our world as we know it in a positive way. From allowing us to get away from fossil fules, and helping clean up pollution in the air, also providing us with cures from cancers an many other illnesses. The powers to be are very aware of this, so the plant will continue to be demonized so they can exploit us for greed on everyone else. While creating wars for the power of the petro dollar. Free your minds from the invisible chains educate yourselves an your children, don't give into the lies that keeps us divided, wake up an realize that the game is rigged an we are setup for failure.

Smoke or eat all you want it makes no difference the government should not support people especially those that abuse life. Insurance is a gamble that takes from hard working people and gives to those that take more risk. If you make children you can not afford they and you do not deserve to take from others. Being irresponsible has consequences and you can not expect others to make up the difference.

I have no problem in making all drugs legal and let people kill themselves. We should not tax vices to control behavior but we also should not help those that do not control themselves. If you legalize it you are putting a government stamp on it and making the government responsible for your irresponsible behavior. I say just do not make criminals and do not involve the government in personal behaviors. The government does not have to say yes or no it is your freedom and liberty to kill yourself.

Jane, I think you demonstrated very effectively why it is not ideal to use the term decriminalization when stating your beliefs on the topic. It is quite confusing to say the least. Decriminalization in the legal realm tends to mean making it punishable by a fine, which I know is not what you meant. I'm wondering do you listen to Free Talk Live. Is that the root of this confusing language?

The Orthodox Union that offers kosher certification is in early discussions with parties interested in offering kosher medical marijuana products, though it has refused to certify cigarettes and e-cigarettes in the past due to their clear health risks

MS is the most corrupt state so it is waiting for the bribes. The voter is ignorants so nothing is going to happen to fix the system as long as the corrupt leaders use money to force people to submit to the tyranny.

Wacky weed is free and legal on the Oxford campus and is passed out at the Institutions of higher learning. We will not forget Dick Scruggs nor Aub Patterson for their great donations to UM. Peas in a pod for the advancement of black bears. Shane Hooper will go down in History unless he gets in to trouble. Long live the chancellor. He truly was the best thing that ever happened to the University. We going to fire old Aub Patterson in May. May he rest in peace with all his stolen wealth. Yea pot is legal in Oxford if you are paid to pay.......Go college board jokers....no comment from Patterson...that is the first time he loves to hear himself speak for hours and say nothing...buried with cash and bank stock...to spend where? It will feed the fire down there??

Just think of the research center Tupelo could be if we made it legal to help heal people.
