Reed would not see the problems even if they hit him over the head The line of CDF, Create and the DJ is not to acknowledge problems.

They only want to use positive thinking and not solve the problems. Reality is objective not subjective.

The Daily Urinal fosters apathy regarding local government and business to protect the small group of moneyed individuals who actually run the city's government. Whatever Create/CDF wants the city council gives them and the Daily Urinal tells us what a great deal it will be. But few will read this and of those who read it most will be too apathetic to care. So THEY win and WE lose.

Why do people go to his store and pay for one of his reed' s t-shirts to basically be a walking advertisement for his store? I always thought that was a little weird.

The company store. It goes back to slavery.

Messiah..apparently you don't get around much.

Places like Fudpuckers, Blue Canoe, Five Guys & Fries, Neon Pig, Harveys', Sweet Peppers Deli, Hard Rock Cafe, and more places do it. It's about showing pride in a store or food place. Nothing wrong with that.

I don't understand why anyone would be a walking advertisement for any of those places. Pride? I thought people were suppose to be proud about personal accomplishments. I didn't know people took pride in the fact that they shop at a certain store.

"Ad in this mornings DJ invites residents to attend a "State of the City"address by Mayor Jack Reed tomorrow afternoon at 4 P.M. BancorpSouth Center. Did we, Tupelo paid for this ad? Went last year and had several observations. Parking lot full of city owned vehicles. Inside most of audience was city employees. Final thought who was paying for the time off to attend and was this attendance mandatory and if so, why?. What I don't understand is why Mayor Reed does not make his report to the City Council in a regular meeting or a special called meeting broadcast by Comcast. If it is so important then the larger audience is broadcast by Comcast. Not many citizens, except self employed, retired or top management people answerable only to themselves are able to take off at 3:30 in the afternoon to attend. Who is the Mayor speaking to? To me this method, in lieu of reporting at a regular Council meeting is just short of grandstanding. Maybe not. We will see. Last years report WAS nothing but grandstanding."

...obviously not Knox. If that was true then that whole Reed plan for the redevelopment, free scholarships, and all that plan they tried to do would have passed. But it didn't. Duh. Do you even ATTEND a City council meeting? You'd be better educated to reply to these posts if you did.

Yes and spoke at them. The city council has pre meeting phone meetings as they argue about the agenda, way before they act it out in public. The back room deals are done way before the show. The posturing is all for the public to think that they have a say and also allows for reelection of the council members. Reed got just about everything in a round about way.
These phone deals are skirting the public meeting laws.

Are you a lap dog for city hall, Farmington? I've been to several council meetings and they are dog and pony shows. As anon said, all the decisions are tentatively made when the meetings come to order. The council avoids, averts and diverts all questions and complaints. The Daily Urinal and WTVAwwww-well are complaisant lap dogs to BIG DADDY and his friends.
