Why did Nunnlee have his surgery in Columbus,OH? I know for a fact that the North Miss. Medical Center, Tupelo,MS is one of the finest hospitals in the area. The NMMC has performed many successful heart surgeries. He is supposed to be back in Washington,DC in a short time. From this day forward he will be prescribed blood thinner (rat poision) and will have to have his blood monitored monthly. Welcome to the blood thinner roller coaster, Mr. Nunnlee.

NMMC has a poor record of infections. It also lacks the integrity attached to better institutions. If you remember the congress is exempt from the health care bill as they have that special coverage that only the elites can get.
I personally do not go to Mississippi medical facilities because the treat the patient like they are ignorant and the doctor knows best when in fact he is a human with all the human faults. It is a money making industry not one based on human philosophy.
NMMC has also been fined for ripping off Medicare.

Me thinks your assertions are not proven out with the fact that NMMC just received its second Baldridge award since Heer got there. They certainly have issues like any other company but your evaluation seems harsh in light of other evidence. The Medicare claim should be turned in the feds if you have proof of that.

Baldridge has to do with efficiency and paperwork not the customer evaluation. Just as Tupelo is the All American City, just an empty award.
The Feds already closed the case and collected the fine against NMMC. The local paper would never print a story bad about it's crown jewel.

Too many of the same faces show up in Tupelo board rooms. And NMMC is the text book case for political connections. CREATE, CDF, Journal Publishing, NMMC/NMHS, Bancorpsouth and Renasant board members are the Godfathers of N-E Mississippi.
Who can ignore the C-O-N scam and the hospital's inside connections with the MHA. Prompt, efficient care is a matter of appearance and marketing and certainly a patient get's the "best care available in the area" since there is no competition. It's a good thing the Baldridge team didn't question me or several hundred others I have met whose treatment at NMMC was sorely lacking.
And the hospital is in bed so deeply with the Daily Urinal that a whistle blower's email regarding irregularities at the hospital was forwarded to hospital administrators immediately with no concern for patients, hospital staff or the community at large. All that matters to the Daily Urinal's managers is keeping the hospital's image whitewashed regardless what trash and slime must be covered. The Baldridge award is just another phony ribbon that Tupelo's gullible voters fall for. WAKE UP FOLKS.
