How do you tune out the voice of another person

I have never been able to tune out others if they are speaking. Yet I have observed many being able to do this. I was wondering if this is a learned skill or does it just come naturally. Need feedback on this issue.

I am a focused person and can not understand words when they are sang with music. It is a matter of sound processing and chemicals in the brain regulated by your genes. On the other hand training such as meditation allows you to tune out your senses to focus on your rhythm.
You have to be a bit of a psychopath to pick and choose different people in a group to tune out while you give attention to others.
