I'd rather risk dying on the way to another hospital than go to Harris hospital. The staff is completely horrible. I will never go there again, unless I want an $8,000 cold.

They SELL your account to a collection agency right after you leave. I made 2 payments then I got a letter from a collection agency. I absolutely refuse to pay that bill now!!!

Seriously, shut the hell up about it. There have already been two other topics talking about Harris Hospital. Everyone gets it! They don't have the right equipment to handle certain serious types of trauma. Instead of bitching about it on here, do something about it! Talk to the mayor, governor, who the hell ever to help get it state funded! Put your voice to use rather then just bitching about it on a topics forum!

That was my point...everyone keeps bitching about how they aren't "worth a crap" as you put it. After the third topic, we get it. My other point is, if you don't like it, do something about it. They do not have the equipment for serious traumas such as heart attacks and what not, because they are not properly funded. If you would rather risk your life and drive an hour to another hospital, or even get on here and bitch about it for that matter, then actually try to do something about it, then it is your own fault. If you do not like something, and yet are effortless to change it, then how do you expect to get results? I agree, we DO need a better hospital, so we as a community need to do something about it other then bitch.

Have a question? Where is the nurse that use to work in the E.R.? I think her name is Sandy. She was the one nurse that I could always count on being nice. I heard the hospital fired her-can't imagine why. I heard she had M.S. and the hospital got rid of her. Doesn't sound like a place I want to continue taking my family. Batesville isn't far--Searcy isn't far--even Jonesboro isn't far. The thing about the community doing something you can't swollow that. CHS has managed to step on more than 1 good person and get away with it--LOOK WHAT THEY DID TO NEWPORT HOSPITAL--there is just so much squeezing you can take. What goes around comes around!!!!!!!!!!

She isn't working any where right now. She has a new grandbaby that she's enjoying :-). It's a shame they let her go, she's an excellent nurse!

i had a child there a little over a year ago and could not have been happier. The nursing staff and Dr.Jackson treated me wonderful. The nurse that was in delivery with me, Paula, was awesome. She made me feel so comfortable. If i ever had another baby i would without a doubt go back there. Dr. Jackson is a wonderful OB.

I must say, being pregnant myself right now, and having gone up there a couple of times, I LOVE the OB staff! Dr. Jackson is the best OB I have EVER had. Melanie and Deborah are the sweetest nurses I have ever had! It is just all around a great and comfortable place when you're expecting.

The OB department is the only department that you can bank on getting good care.Dr.Jackson won't have it any other way. Wish he had control over the whole hospital.Really sad about Sandy. I think she worked around that hospital a long time. Letting someone go after serving that many years and knowing she had something like M.S. THAT IS DIRTY!!!

First of all, how does it make me a coward to say stop talking crap on a damn website and instead, do something about it? I am pretty sure it makes me the opposite. So go throw your ridiculous insults elsewhere. And if you want to talk to anyone about a credit report being completely destroyed by medical bills, it probably wouldn't be me, because trust me, mine is screwed. As far as medicade goes, you can't get it unless you are pregnant or have serious health issues in this state, and even then medicade doesn't pay it all. I;m glad you think you know more about it. Cute. And unlike you, I AM doing something about it. Try talking to the governor about single payer health care. That is the problem, most people are too afraid, or don't even bother because they think that if they say something it wont mater. But the truth is, if they WOULD say something about it, and more people were outspoken about it, then hell yeah, something would be done. But it isn't because people have that "It wouldn't do anything" mind set. How do you truly know unless you try?! Trust me, it works. I know because I come from another state completely. And when we got together and made them listen, we got results. So coward? No. Just sick of hearing the bitching when people can actually be doing something. Don't think you know me, don't think I haven't been there. Remember, when you assume you make an ASS out of U and ME.

The Me.....calm down! If these people feel like venting or just sharing their stories and it bothers you so much, don't read it. I agree with you that they should do something about it, and just maybe by seeing these other stories that may be just the motivation they need to take action. Why don't you give these people specific ways to change things, because you sound like you have experience in this area. The thread has been on here for a while, but so have several others were people single out individuals and trash them. At least this one has some substance to it.
