Having divorced itself from Biblical doctrine and practice, the Episcopal Church is making itself more and more irrelevant. It is perhaps the third oldest denomination in America and used to be among the top ten in membership. It has lost millions of members and has to hold many of its parishes and diocese as hostages against theft of their property.

Sad.

Sad.
What is really sad is that there are people like you who think this is sad.

It is such a minor issue. Except if you happen to be one of these people who are G/L/B/T or I. Then you might feel a bit like an ostracized minority or an outcast.

I wonder what Jesus said about these people? No I don't. I know exactly what He said.

That is why The Episcopal Church is resetting the course of the Body of Christ. We are going back to the real fundamentals.

You know. The real message of Christ Jesus. Not the centuries old fecklessness of institutionalized bigotry and hypocrisy that is represented by people such as the author of the post above who cry theft of propeerty and all the while squirrel away the assets where they think they will remain hidden.

Read the Acts of the Apostles to see how the Holy Spirit deals with the insincere hypocrites.

Oh, yeah! Something you can count on.

Again, RevKen astounds with his theological depth and biblical acumen. What an idiot! A first grader can read the Bible and come up with more theological depth than he. There are no greater bigots than the leadership of TEC. They are bigoted against their own members who believe what the Bible says about homosexuality, clear biblical teaching, and God's law and gospel.
They are bigoted enough to drive them away and legally take their property. TEC is not a case of rats jumping a sinking ship. It is a case of the rightful passengers jumping the sinking ship while the rats stay on board to go down with the ship.

Those who absconded with assets, endowments and property and then openly refuted their membership in The Episcopal Church were plotting their moves well in advance and calculating the losses.

Unfortunately for those mutinous absconders, the Holy Spirit cut to the chase and now the consequences are coming in.

The one who doesn't listen, posting above, would have everyone believe he and the other mutineers are as innocent as lambs.

But, they planned to get away with it and now, it appears that their plans had more than a few poorly drawn constructs.

Grace has an interesting feature. It compounds the results.

Why in the world would there be ANY resistance to trans people being ordained? It's not like it's some odd behavior choice or a moral issue of some kind.

I'm not trans, but even I can see that.

If the Holy Spirit can call an eunuch to found the church in Ethiopia in Apostolic times then why can’t we call transgender be called to serve the church today? Who can stop the Holy Spirit?

Philip and the Ethiopian

26 Now an angel of the Lord said to Philip,“Go south to the road—the desert road—that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.” 27 So he started out, and on his way he met an Ethiopian eunuch, an important official in charge of all the treasury of the Kandake (which means “queen of the Ethiopians”). This man had gone to Jerusalem to worship, 28 and on his way home was sitting in his chariot reading the Book of Isaiah the prophet.

29 The Spirit told Philip,“Go to that chariot and stay near it.”

30 Then Philip ran up to the chariot and heard the man reading Isaiah the prophet.“Do you understand what you are reading?” Philip asked.

31 “How can I,” he said,“unless someone explains it to me?” So he invited Philip to come up and sit with him.

32 This is the passage of Scripture the eunuch was reading:

“He was led like a sheep to the slaughter, and as a lamb before its shearer is silent, so he did not open his mouth.

33 In his humiliation he was deprived of justice. Who can speak of his descendants? For his life was taken from the earth.”

34 The eunuch asked Philip,“Tell me, please, who is the prophet talking about, himself or someone else?”

35 Then Philip began with that very passage of Scripture and told him the good news about Jesus.

36 As they traveled along the road, they came to some water and the eunuch said,“Look, here is water. What can stand in the way of my being baptized?”

38 And he gave orders to stop the chariot. Then both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water and Philip baptized him.

39 When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord suddenly took Philip away, and the eunuch did not see him again, but went on his way rejoicing.

40 Philip, however, appeared at Azotus and traveled about, preaching the gospel in all the towns until he reached Caesarea.
