<quoted text>I bet you wish Chicago had vigilant neighbors like we do here in Alamogordo.
Warrior, the variances of people choosing to get involved, or not, is an occurence, and choice all across this country.

When I say that many laws need changing nationwide to help, and protect law abiding citizens, and their property, such as the Castle Laws in TX, such laws also act as a deterrent to such crimes.

If you hypothetically were a burglar residing in the current "wimpy lawed" Chicago, Ill, wouldn't you think twice about illegally entering a residence, if it might cost you your life?

I don’t know who said it but it stayed with me "I'd rather be judged by twelve than carried by six". So stay away whether or not they're gonna make you free or not, and if that's the case where's pictures and names.

Good thing the neighbor stood up and did something. If you left it up to the deputy on the left in the picture he would never catch him. Criminals have minimal respect for the law, that's a given. When our law enforcement agencies don't respect themselves enough to be fit for duty and present a professional apperance, it leads the criminal mind to think that the law enforcement officals are slacking on their jobs. It makes it even harder to deter crime when there is an apperance that law enforcement is fat, out-of-shape, middle aged men.

What!! Apparently you don't know much about police work. Once you catch 1 crook you catch many more. Then there are the search Warrants, it you have never written one sometimes they are a pain. Then the detectives start interview everyone who MIGHT be associated to this 1 crook which leads to many more arrests. Now you need to start contacting individuals who had their items stolen. This turns out to be a very long week and I haven't metioned the reports they have to write.

Hats off to the DPS dispatcher who stayed on the phone with the neighbor and at the same time radioed the burglars location to the pursuing officers. I heard the pursuit on the scanner. Way to go DPS!

In other words, they have to do the job they are paid to do.

I don't know who they are, but I was passing by when they were getting arrested on Indian Wells Road. The cops took a blonde white female and a shirtless, white blonde male out from the silver Dodge.

I am a Military Police Staff Sergeant currently deployed with the NM National Guard in Kosovo. By all means, I would not expect other law enforcement professionals to stay in shape and look professional if I myself did not do it. I expect the same professionalism out of my soldiers while I am here, and would hope the law enforcement that are back at home protecting my family are doing the same. I am not an arm chair quaterback on this issue. I do the job myself and expect more out of law enforcement across the country and across the world for that matter. So as petty as you may think it is, I know what I am talking about on this issue.
