By and large my favorite BBQ joint in town. Granted, the only two menu items I've had so far has been the cole slaw and the BBQ. I was skeptical at first bite. Not expecting much at all thanks to other BBQ places in the local area. I expected mediocre at best.

Imagine my surprise and enthusiasm when I fell in love at first bite! Not too saucy and far from dry. The meat had a great flavor that was enhanced by the sauce. The cole slaw was on point.

I now consider myself a happy repeat customer. I highly recommend giving them a try. The food will not disappoint.

Nice self advertising. How about letting your customers tell the truth! Worst experience ever. Diarreha for days afterwards. Do not go!!!

I'm laughing Warrior!!! "self advertising" always catches up with people. I agree, leave the bbq business to people that know what they are doing.

I enjoyed the food and service very much. The spicy bbq sauce was awesome. The price is very reasonable too.

Yes the price was reasonable, until I had to buy a whole package of charmin super extra soft TP and a box of imodium-AD. On top of that the explosive diarreha caused me to miss a day of work. I ought to sue for damages.

I seen the place passing by a couple times, but haven't went.
And I'm debating whether to or not.
As for the outside, it looks like they spent a whole $100 on the decor,(similar to rockin BZ) but of course something as such doesn't necessarily make an eatery bad.
I'm more concerned about cleanliness, quality of food, decent service, and some degree of organization.
I went in Carl's Jr a few days ago, and already things seem somewhat different, typical of so many places here, that something happens, a switch flips, and it all then seems to revert back to the same old same old, most of which have been cast to the wayside.
The $6 Burger I had seemed poorly prepared, just messily slapped together in a hurry, was 1/2 cold, and so were the sweet potato fries, 1/2 cold.
Look as Churches Chicken, or KFC, Burger King, and so many others here.
I'm not sure what the local yokels here consider good, or great BBQ?
Things like stringy 1/2 cold Brisket, and tough-chewy Tri Tip are far from being favs of mine. It doesn't matter how nicely "smokey" the flavor is, if I need a hacksaw to cut through it, and I'm chewing a mouthful for 5 minutes I'm just not too keen on this sort of fare.
Another, Pulled Pork, yes, and no. Nasty tasteless tough Pork masked by a tankerful of cheap BBQ Sauce is not my idea of a great pulled PorK Sandwich.
Now if it's a BBQ'd "Ribwich", which the Ribs are so moist-tender, the bones just literally slide right out, complimented with a delicious BBQ Sauce, a nice order of Slow Cooked Boston Baked Beans done right, or tasty fresh Slaw, and fresh hot Steak Fries on the side, now you're talking!
That's Heisenberg's idea of good BBQ.
I went to Can't Stop Smokin once. Their "cafeteria style" of service I felt left a lot to be desired. That, and the high prices, the cold food, and then having to jockey for a place to sit.
No thanks.
I think your problem is that you have eaten to many shyt sandwiches in chitcago so good food here in Alamogordo shocks your weak immune crap hole system..

But I will say this. Heisenberg has lived here long enough.
Long enough to know the hows, and whys of "business as usual" here in this one horse town.
It's not that your restaurants are bad, it's that your people here have no honor, no care, no drive,
a flawed mindset of bilking people in whatever they do.
There's usually no one here that gives you a fair shake, only looking to take you for a ride, hit you for as much money as they can, and give you as little as possible in return.
They think this is how you run a good business. Well, it sure isn't.
Can you name any eateries in this town that have been in business longer than 20 years? Hi-D-Ho?
Maybe that's one?
In ten years, I've seen more places fold, than have opened.
Bad economy? Was that it? I'd prefer to believe it was bad business. A failed business, with a failed business plan.
Remember, it wasn't Heisenberg who single handedly put these places out of business, it was the entire town that did.
Had these businesses flourished, most would still be operating, wouldn't they?
What are some of the reasons they folded? Tell me?
Are you capable of truth, or understanding?
Two basic reaons are this......
Crap food with fly by night carpetbagger owners, and cheap tight azz people. That's a one-two punch that just ain't working.
Care to offer any more reasons? Let's hear them?
Again good people of Alamogordo I want to apologize for my brain dead son. Between the doctor dropping him on his fat head the day he was born, to him being shot in the head in the ghettos of Chicago to all the dope he smoked, injected and ingested in his day he is just lucky to still be alive. He obviously has mental issues and has been diagnosed with hyprofastfoodriac. It's a rare fast food condition that sets my little turd burglar off at the sight of a fast food establishment and he gets hyper sensitive when he sees a new fast food joint. I know I should have aborted this little goober on day one but I just didn't have the 2 dollars to do it right at the time. I thought the coat hanger trick would work but I am afraid it just pre-scrambled his brain before life fully scrambled it up. I am sorry. He is in the basement right now with his computer priviliges revoked for the day. Hope this helps..

That is only because the menu is cheaper at Taco Bell. Too many poor fat slobs on minimum wage.

Hey dummy, this thread is about the new BBQ place. Go flame Carl's Jr on their own thread.

I find it amusing to see the remarks and thank God for my thick skin which I take none personally. I am the owner of the Hitch-N-Post BBQ and have really enjoyed business to date. I have had a great response from my customers and all my business has been word of mouth and repeat business. I believe that speaks volumes more than any type of cheap shots that are thrown my way on some forum by someone hiding behind an alias.

All of our recipes are our own and all the meat is rubbed, injected and smoked over the proper type of wood. We take much pride in the product that we put out and though we will never have our BBQ perfected that is definitely our goal. That is to have the best BBQ in Alamogordo and a feat in my own opinion we have already accomplished.

As far as the remark about "self-advertising" I can give you my word on this. As owner I had nothing to do with the comment made about our BBQ. I do appreciate the remark though and believe that it could very well be valid than someone just trying to "help me out" with a positive remark.

To the joker who said he/she had stomach problems after eating my BBQ I'd just have to say why in the world didn't you come back and let me know. Better yet why didn't you go to the health dept. and let them know. I believe the reason you didn't is because you are probably some yellow bellied, spineless manager/busser of a competing restaurant and wanted to try and make my BBQ place look bad. That would be my educated guess. If you really did have a bad experience please come back in, show your face, produce a receipt and I will gladly give you your money back and very directly convey our right to "refuse service to anyone". That would include yourself.

To the person who made the comment about our place not being fixed up on the outside I agree with you. I have not done much to the outside but I believe the inside would impress you. I have spent a lot of time and care fixing the inside up and believe it has tremendous character. You are right though about our place and rocking bz with it not having the large corporate look. Sorry if we don't have the budget of Carls Jr., Burger King and other corporate companies to have a marketing team hired. We are both small businesses who are trying to hammer out a living in this corporate world so please give us a little slack if we don't have the big fancy neon signs. I believe the food matters more than the outside of the building anyhow.

Well I guess I better quit with my rant but do invite anyone who reads this to come try us out. We have a great product, top service and reasonable prices. Please establish your opinion of us by experience and not a forum.

Thanks and God Bless,
Couy Griffin
