Why isn't Animal Village involved in this event? They don't take-in any unwanted/relenquished pets, they ONLY sell them to make $$$. FYI

I brought in my dog, had to give him away due to health issues. Animal Village of New Mexico wouldn't accept him. What? Isn't that what your here for? The woman who operates the facility was rude/nasty.

My kids and I volunteer at Animal Control. I have never seen birds there.....
It breaks my heart to see these sad animals. We adopted our newest baby from there and will be at the park tomorrow to help. PLease come and send others.
Let's give these animals the happy ending others failed at.
I have been hearing more and negative things about this Pet Village. Wonder if it is accurate? More info?
I do know they will not take Pits. D%mn shame. They are great dogs.

According to the story, Timber Ridge Aviary and Rescue will be there. They would probably be the ones bringing birds available for adoption.

I have no negative experiences with Animal Village at all. Like everyone, they have a finite amount of space, so they can't take every animal that gets brought in, much as they would like to. If they aren't taking pits, that's new - they have had them in the past. They are very strict about cleanliness, quarantine, and giving shots to any animal that comes in - I wish some of the visitors would respect that a bit more!

Thank you HOC. I was very excited about this place but then started seeing all the negatives. I need to go and see it myself. Appreciate your response and understand the limited money and space.

That's because people step over the bleach pads and flat out ignore the signs on every cage asking you to sanitize your hands after touching an animal. Every shelter has runs with parvo, unfortunately. It's an awful disease.

Just confirmed that they do indeed still take pits, so I'm not sure where that info came from. Here is a link to their web site with info about adoptions, etc.

It happens. I have mistakenly given out the wrong information once or twice in my lifetime:) That's one reason I try to give links! By all means, go out to see the facility yourself...and maybe fill out a volunteer form while you are there:)

They just completed a puppy room, which will enable them to keep puppies further separate from older dogs until they have had all their shots. Mom (who is offline for the moment) fostered a mama and her 6 puppies for a while because they were too young for shots, but they are all there now, and just the cutest little bundles of fur! My favorite is the smaller, all-black female, who we called "Lydia". Sassy little thing!

HOC, there is someone on Holloman Yard Sales that has orphaned kitties and is trying to get ahold of you. I think she's been searching through the phonebook looking under your topix user name.

I certainly will. Also, AlamoShape is doing their annual Sunset Run in June. The proceeds will go to Animal village. I am going to take the kids and our dogs and walk the 5k. I would encourage this event!
The more donations they get the less they have to ask for these animals. And ,oh my gosh, they have some beautiful dogs!
Love the website. The photos are gorgeous and the site very tasteful.

I met the lady who does the photography Sunday. Pet photos are HARD, and she gets some gorgeous shots! She does wedding and equine photography as her 'day job', and donates her services to Animal Village.
Looking up
