Better jobs, medical care, education. I live in Rio Rancho and I have met a few people who used to live in Ruidoso and the answers are all the same.As far as population dropping I really think the population is just changing from people who understand the need to be counted and people who want to remain uncounted because they don`t understand how America works yet.

You are correct. I have never seen so many business closed or closing or for sale. It is frightening. The fire danger, the lack of moisture, the lack of water in our reservoir's. The rumor floating around that the track will be leaving. The schools strugeling, the Inn on edge of financial ruin. Drug cartels, crime, lack of jobs and fewer every year, drugs in our schools. Well I have been here some 20 yrs. Paradise isn't anymore. Why cant we get Sudderth Paved. Oh, or are we going to wait for all the tourist to come up (or atleast those that do come) then tear up Sudderth Drive. Yes that's what we will do. Of course.

Ruidoso has no esteem. Just look at the stories coming out of there. Drunks driving around with three and four DWI convictions, failing schools, high rates of poverty, all kinds of crime which is not accurately reported, politicians who suck at the teet of a crimelord, city managers and fake fire chiefs with no education and resumes full of holes, "churches" that exist solely to afford people luxury SUVS, pastors who bilk their churches out of good money, more domestic violence than one could possibly imagine, horrible restaurants, overpriced rentals, properties, groceries and gas, a corrupt government that lies about the water forcing residents to drink contaminates while still bilking ever Ruidoso water customer out of $40 some dollar per month for a treatment plant that the money received should long ago have covered, police and firefighters who protect family and friends and are powerless to enforce the law, a DA that wont convict anyone for fear of burning a fundraising bridge, the once mighty Ruidoso is full of contaminates and the children can't even put their feet in it, the trees are all dead and what they wont tell you about the water is what all of you who own property should be demanding to know. I forgot its also the meth capital of the SW, the banking institutions are not solid and some cannot guarantee even 100,000K, a bizarre sales tax passed to provide prosititutes and cocaine for the horse people, should I go on? I moved to Hobbs but Im not far enough away. Since January, four large acreage parcels have sold to Ruidoso residents, so I don't think people will go to Las Cruces, so much as they will go anywhere that they can escape to! There are some medium fish in this small pond that know they cant shake their shit in any other town so they will stay. You know those type, they'd rather be king of a crap pile than a productive member of regular society.

Back to water production and turbidity. Guidelines are in place because turbidity can shield harmful bacteria from the disinfection process. No operator in his right mind would place filters in front of turbidity meters however this is what happened. Anyplace else an operator would be terminated on the spot not transferred to distribution. I also drink bottled water and pay too high water bills.
