Kraft Recalls Knudsen Cottage Cheese

We don't recommend that people eat spoiled food Kraft Food announced on Friday that it is voluntarily recall it's Knudsen Cottage Cheese in seven states. via KMPH-TV Fresno

We find it interesting that the recall states that this is a safety issue and not a health issue, as I became ill for a period of five days eating the cottage cheese. Numerious trips to the bathroom and extremely upset stomoch. Sounds like the corporate PTA to us.

So it is back on the shelf but...it does not taste the same. It is not as good as it used to be. In fact Knudson low fat was so great you would not believe it was low fat.

It's back on the shelves, but who knows what it is
it's not the rich and creamy knudsen product i've been buying for years. Now its just as watery as any other cottage cheese. It's as good now as the store brand. What a shame on knudson same price different product.

i always used to have a carton of knudsen's cottage cheese in my refrigerator. a couple of years ago i got a bad tasting one (and the texture just wasn't right) and threw it out. when i got a second and third bad carton, i called the company and they gave me some free coupons... the only problem is that it's never gone back to being the same. i really miss it. i wonder what happened? did they lose the recipe? as others have said, it's very watery and tasteless now.

MY FATHER WORKED FOR KNUDSEN CREMERY (L.A.) FOR 17 YRS. 1949-1966 SO NATURALLY I GREW UP WITH ALL THE DAIRY PRODUCTS. THE COTTAGE CHEESE NOWADAYS IS ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE COMPARED TO THE GOOD OLE DAYS. THE CURDS WERE NOT AS LARGE AS TODAY AND IT WAS NOT LIKE SAUCE. THERE WAS NO CREMEY CONSISTANCY AT ALL!! WHY THE COMPANY DOES NOT GO BACK TO THE ORIGINAL PRODUCT IS A MYSTERY TO ME. IT SURE SEEMS MOST PEOPLE WOULD LIKE TO SEE IT HAPPEN.

I thought I was the only one in the world who noticed that Knudsen cottage cheese has changed,
and not for the better, in the last 50 years!!!!I've been buying off brands which are so much
better. Knudsen needs to clean up their act. I've noticed that their sour cream tastes different also.

So it's not just me... like a previous poster, my Dad worked for Knudsen in the '60s & '70s and we were very loyal to the brand - because it was THE BEST. Not now... I'm curious about what brands you've found that are better?(Save me having to buy a bunch...) Thanks!
