Now that I've seen the place and where it is and the businesses around it I have to ask a question. When you got septic tank trucks in and out of School Dr. all day right across the street from DORAVILLE PUBLIC WORKS DEPT. why don't THEY say something about it? It don't take much to figure out and I know the Pittmans ain't blind. Sick of it.
You would think that they would complain. They spend a lot of time over there cooking and playing cards. Maybe it just depends on which way the wind blows, or maybe everyone is so worried about their job that they are afraid to speak up. I wish more people could see that there is a culture up there (city hall, etal) of not having to do much to earn your pay. Those days are over and that it is the real cause of the low morale, believe it. Of course some, mostly Dumna supporters, think all those folks work really hard. A lot of people would gladly sit their fat ass on a riding lawn mower and collect 40K per year + outstanding benefits. Most teachers don't make that kind of money! To me that (lawn mowing) is a totally low stress job.

This is some pretty raw stuff. Heck I'd move if I could.

That's the thing. No one can afford to move and take the monumental loss on their property. There are homes in Chamblee and Northcrest that are the same style and square footage that are going today, in this economy, for almost double what we can get here. That's a FACT. With that being said is it finally sinking in that the lack of leadership and the horrible choices made in allowing all these low class, disgusting businesses in is the problem? Donna, Joe and Pam have never met a business they didn't like.

Dear Council, what do you say about the sewage dump business? Where were you when that business came to town? Where were you when that business got a license to do business in Doraville? Where were you when the smells covered the city and people complained?

One of the few things Dumya DOES do is sit in her office all day and religiously monitor this site. Not sure if council members do or not.

We know that some of them read it, they've even gone so far as to have some "attorney/client" information removed. Yeah, they read it. They try to act like the only people who post on here are idiots. That is no longer true, this has been become an outlet for the sane and informed, well here are a few idiots who still post, but we ignore them. Help the people who are looking out for your best interests, get involved!

I looked at the web site for the city. It's not logical. Not a very good web design. Not much basic info there. Nothing about permits issued or police reports. Guess you have to go to city hall to get that. With all the technology don't know why people would have to go to city hall in person.

They do nothing in a cost effective manner. When someone files an ORR for emails, they have to get our "IT" department to pull them. When someone asks me for an email that I wrote or received, all I have to do is forward it! That website is newly designed and it is lame. Just look at Norcross, Dunwoody or Decatur's!

Can anybody say straight out that the city planner let the human waste transfer station open up shop in Doraville and what actual proof can you show for it?

I have a copy of the original application for the license (actually called an occupational tax placard) signed by none other than Joe Cooley. I understand wanting proof but rest assured that there is much, much more and the only reason it has not been put out here yet is because the proof is not yet in hand. We know it to be true, without a doubt, but nothing works better than having proof in hand.

You might have that wrong on the tax placard. Mrs. Bryant handles business license and tax placards in Doraville.

Maybe, all I know is that I'm sitting here looking at the application for the tax placard and it is signed off on by Joe Cooley. I will scan and post later if I can figure out how to do it. Plus, Joe Cooley admitted on the record that he signed off on it. The DVD is available at city hall and the minutes of the meeting will be published on the city website soon.

You can get the DVD from city hall for $5.00. Then when all the documented facts are in hand you can compare those with the lies told on the record.

When it comes right down to it, who in city government can grant a permit to do business in Doraville?
