What, pray tell, does "Im well aware of what when on in slavery." mean?
"...what when on..."?
And you have the gall to attempt to critique another poster's grammar?
Stick to arguing the point, and leave the grammar policing job to those who possess a stronger grasp of the English language. You certainly are not among that group.
All you've succeeded in doing here is making a complete fool of yourself.
You should work on your own grammatical skills before you begin criticizing the grammar of others. Your penultimate sentence should read “You are certainly not a part of that group” as opposed to “You are certainly not among that group.” You cannot be among a single thing. You can only be a part of a single thing. A crowd is a single thing. For example, you cannot be among the forest even though it is comprised of several trees. You can be among the trees in a single forest, but not among a single forest. Similarly, you cannot be among a crowd. You may be in a crowd or you may be part of a crowd, or you may be among the people in a crowd, but you cannot be among a crowd.

You get offended when you see black women whose appearance you do not care for. You then come to Topix to vent this.
Why not just focus on looking at what you like? or check out the trees, or the architecture, or listen to the radio?
Those women you are trashing in your head, are somebody's mother/sister etc. There are people that care about them, even if you do not.
I did not mean to be evil at all....
Personality and intelligence is everything.....
but many of these "big" girlz have a mind set that they are a 9 or 10 when they are really a 2 or 3.
Most of the ones I have met in ATL walk around like they are ready to get on Atlanta Housewives or some Hollywood set.
Yall gone crazy with this "independent women" S.h.i.t.

Why are you spending so much time thinking about black women? I don't know where you are finding all these fat black women. I'm heavy. But God loves me. I am so many other things then my weight. I put on weight when I began to take steroids for my lung condition and it caused me to gain weight. My nieces, aunties and mother are not fat at all. Some of my nieces and cousins have big old butts but they are slim in the waist and not fat. I am a mother to a beautiful son who graduated from UCLA with honors and recently took the LSAT for law school placement, hopefully Stanford or UC Berkeley. I have so much to be greatful for. Atlanta is not the Mecca where you can pin down who African American's are. They think because some of them have money from bouncing a basketball around they are "The black elite." Oh my goodness, no. Look to Mrs. Obama - she is more accurately reflects the face of African American women in this century. My son's half sister Tinu is a Molecular Biologist, does something with research in human genes (how ironic). Black sisters, don't allow anyone to hurt you or discourage you from being all God will have you to be. I don't care if you are 90 pounds or 190 pounds - COVER THE GROUND YOU STAND ON AND HOLD YOUR HEAD UP HIGH, WE LAUGH IN THE FACE OF IGNORANCE IN ANY FORM.

Hello Everyone,
I moved here, about 23 miles South of Atlanta, just over a year ago from another State. I'm a mature, single, African American male, and needless to say, I am ("EXTREMELY") disappointed in the extreme amount of overweight Black females in and around Atlanta. It's as if someone put something in the Kool-Aid. This situation is quite mind-boggling and seems to be in epidemic proportions. To not recognize and acknowledge this reality would be simple self denial and an obvious refusal to deal with reality. This is a "No Brainer." Just look around. This sad condition is not excusive to the Atlanta area, it's a National phenomenon, especially amongst black females. Do the research. Look at the statistics. You would be hard pressed to find an attractive, non-hood-rat-looking, slim, clean-cut, fresh looking, classy, articulate, single (or married) female in Atlanta and vicinity. Even the young ones are big. They don't just look bad, they actually look scary bad. Hate to say it, but it's the cold, hard truth. Went to one of the Black shopping Malls the other day and it was just full of about 99% unattractive black females. No need to apologize for stating the obvious. Look, I'm in my 50s, and I've never seen anything like this. It's Insane!!!

You are in your 50's? You should be married by now. If you're thinking any slim, attractive women with all of those great qualities wants someone the age of her deadbeat grandaddy who probably can't get it up on his own or just a stroke away from the limps, you are out of your mind. Black women are not made to be slim, so first off you are coming into the game with unrealistic expectations. The women your own age, were the ones brought up to be slim and fine, why don't you date them old bag and keep those cataracts astigmatisms off young women and get with women your own age. The nerve

Are you serious? There are a lot of beautiful black women in Atlanta. You go to a couple of clubs and one neighborhood and start making silly generalizations. Also I've been to Philly and the girls aren't exactly top notch. And you're not anything special yourself. You shouldn't set you standards so high.
you may not like the generalization but it is the truth. and the majority of black women these days dont even identify with their own beauty. they all look like bootleg white women. funny how sisters dislike the white woman so much but run to weave suppliers to buy whitefolks hair. as black people we suffer most from our exploitations just like assumptions to the person who responded to you first. focusing on racism makes you a racists. go to your grocery store, there are only two aisles in it with food fit to eat. look up and down your street at the restaurants and go inside one even. as a professional waiter, i will tell you every restaurants number one customer are black women.

wow... your educated mind misdirects you from one exploitation to the next. you defend bad health habits and encourage black success according to white standards that do not benefit blacks at all. i bet you wear a weave and dont feel beautiful or socially accepted without it. you stand up for white superiority and black female superiority and in the same breath diss a brother for playing basketball like thats all we do. im black and im proud, how about you?

Ones health is directly realted to ones education, income, class, and employment. Woman, lower on the income scale tend to be more obese becasue the generally lack the education to know what to do about it, or even realize that it's a problem. Poorer people eat lower quality foods; higher in carbohydrates which store as fat. And, fattier foods, which also store as fat. They are also less motivated to exercise. When you are struggling to know where your next meal is coming from, you are not as interested in joining the local gym.

Obesity in the black community I at epidemic levels. It perpetuates diabetes, cancers, and other diseases that shorten and adversely impact ones life. This is due to you poor food choices made. This is also due to the conveniences of processed food found in the black community. These processed foods are the causes of diabetes and other health complications. These foods are convenient and inexpensive making it an easy choice for who live at or near the poverty line.
