I think we covered this exact issue in the other post about this. I wondered how long it would take for this defense to appear. Let me see if I got this right he killed his own UNCLE at 17 and is found guilty of voluntary manslaughter. Here is the law on that charge:
16-5-2. Voluntary manslaughter

(a) A person commits the offense of voluntary manslaughter when he causes the death of another human being under circumstances which would otherwise be murder and if he acts solely as the result of a sudden, violent, and irresistible passion resulting from serious provocation sufficient to excite such passion in a reasonable person; however, if there should have been an interval between the provocation and the killing sufficient for the voice of reason and humanity to be heard, of which the jury in all cases shall be the judge, the killing shall be attributed to deliberate revenge and be punished as murder.

(b) A person who commits the offense of voluntary manslaughter, upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by imprisonment for not less than one nor more than 20 years.

So he was supposed to serve from 1 to 20 years. What you want to bet he was originally charged with Murder and some wonderful District Attorney decides that in the interest of justice they offer him a plea bargain to a lesser charge. So he takes it and should be off the streets for a maximum of 20 years if the DA made that part of the bargain to allow the plea. But yet 8 years later we have this wonderful human on the streets again. This type stuff is one of the things that really pizzed me off as a cop. You work your azz of making a good case and then some prick of a DA allows a plea down on the case and there is not a damn thing you can do about it after you and your fellow officers have put in many hours of investigation on the case to get the strongest case made. I guess that is why they call it the CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM because the damn victim and the public get no damn justice in most cases.

Who has had a perfect childhood? Probably no one. We as adults know right from wrong. Don't try to blame on a troubled childhood. That shit gets old.

Sadly it works during a trial in many cases.

He killed his parents and cut them into pieces to try to hide the bodies. Tell me why in the hell was he out of prison?

I'm just glad that his attempt to kidnap the little girl failed. I hate to imagine what the sicko would have done to that child.
