A "code" developed by the U.S.Marines, not the code talkers.
Code talkers were instructed what to say and how to say it because in many instances there was no corresponding word in Navajo.
Navajo was selected because it was an un-written language, i.e
no alphabet, just grunts and groans!
You are all a bunch of d-u-m-m-i-e-s!
And your point is? After all anyone can be instructed what to say and how to say it as well as what to do./.. why honor anybody according to your logic? Ok, so basically languages then are basically made up of grunts and groans. Did you know that according to linguists, again, people who have been basically told "what to say". have found that Navajo has more sounds than the average language like English and Spanish? So to use your "grunts and groans" the Navajo language has a few more "grunts and groans" than the Engilsh language.

Much respect to the Code Talkers. What a great story, although wasn't Adam Beach in the movie?

Kudos to the Code talkers who sacrificed a lot for us today. I'm sure in their day they just wanted to serve their country. And serve they did. Thank you, you are Heros in my eyes.

HEY TKELE-CHO-G, that's because the Navajo language, like many Native American languages, was an oral language. For the slower people, YOU, in this thread that means it wasn't written down. Those English letters were put there by linguists working for our government.

Your ignorance shows ever more with each post...keep it up!

Yes, the Navajo language has its own alphabet:

http://www.omniglot.com/writing/navajo.htm

People are not writing in it on Topix because YOU wouldn't be able to read it. They are instead writing for phonetic pronunciation.

I for one am truly grateful for what the Navajo Code Talkers did for us. I also think it's been too long in coming to honor them for all they went through. My father fought in WWII also, but never got to meet any of these men,(that I know of) but he was also very proud of them.
Anybody who has to show disrespect to these men is nothing but a traitor in my book. Maybe they are related to 'Hanoi Jane'?

Daily Horoscope for December 11

Sagittarius

Moodiness is never far away today, making you over-react to problems and giving you a tendency to take out your feelings on your nearest and dearest. If someone asks you what's really wrong, you'll struggle to explain and may even have to give up because you can't put it into words. It's like an itch that you can't scratch, and you don't know where it stems from or what it means.
